Illinois doesn't play Indiana for like a month so I doubt it. They are bad defensively and until that changes they aren't going to let teams hang around.

Yes, very bad defensively. We deserved to lose that game for how badly we played the last 12 minutes or so.

Basketball gods, why are you f***ing with me? If you had told me before the season started we'd be 3-4 in Big Ten play, I'd have been f***ing ecstatic. Now I'm mad. Asi es la vida.

My bad. Thought they played Sat for some reason.

Another late game implosion by Indiana. Wow.

Funness at the Uconn-Cinci game too. College bball is amazing.

I thought Hull's shot was in.

That would have been awesome, and very Hulls-like. Missing the front-end of a 1 and 1 that likely would have won the game...not Hulls like.

Figure it out and get some wins. If this is when we're gonna break down, fine, but fix it and start playing well come February/March.

That Hulls prayer was damn close.

NU and Wisconsin in a shootout. Who would have thought.

Dont worry Wisconsin will go 10 minutes without scoring to make sure this game is in the 50s.

NU is usually good for one of those too. Both of these teams shoot a lot of jumpers.

Wisconsin is just not sharp like the past few years. Careless turnovers is usually something they don't have to worry about.

I'm stunned by their lack of quickness so far. NU never looks like the quicker team once Big Ten play starts and they're running circles around Wisconsin early. Is Wisconsin that unathletic or are they just flat so far?

For having the ugliest shot in basketball, Shurna sure can score.

Wisconsin always looks slow because of the way they play. Almost no dribble drive and they play man to man on defense with help coming from the middle.

That being said, this is not one of my favorite teams in terms of players.

Tempo is one thing, but I was referring to loose balls and such. Still expect them to win this game, but I can see why they're not having their typical success this season.

For the most part the reason they arent doing well is terrible shooting.

Im pretty sure in the losses to Iowa/MSU they were combined something like 5-50 from 3. In other games theyve shot 40-50% from 3. Only against Marquette did Wisconsin look slow, they had a chance to beat UNC @ UNC.

NU might as well play 2 on 5 some of these possessions, so many of their guys have no offensive ability whatsoever.

That is why no basketball stadium should ever have sound that indicates when the clock is running down (I dont even think its allowed in college). But its so stupid that in the NBA home teams have a song that speeds up as the shot clock goes down. All it does is give the non home team an advantage in knowing that the clock is running down.

Always laugh at teams who do that (completely off topic).

That's not a very good selling point for a team. "When we shoot 40-50% from 3 we're good." You could say that about any team in basketball history.

Its not a selling point, its a fact. they can be terribly streaky. Im not trying to pitch anyone on Wisconsin if they make the tournament their run will depend on them being able to shoot well. If they hit shots, theyll win, if they dont theyll lose.

Not much else I can say, they basically are a super talented mid major this year.

NU just always seems to be one guy short of being legitimately good. Crawford and Shurna are pretty damn good, but their centers blow and their guards can't really create their own shots. They might be a threat if Cobb or Marcotullio were healthy and productive, but something always goes wrong for the Cats.

Oklahoma State is going to stop playing us in sports.

What, no He Gawn posts tonight?

What a fun night capped off by heads hitting a half court buzzer beater for a w.

Oh, Booker finally went a game without a three.

I'm glad we could survive a crappy game. Not sure we are an NCAA team, but we needed that game if we want to entertain those thoughts.
