in divisional games in the 2nd half of the season and also play more road games in the first half of the season than I believe, any other team in baseball, so we should be in a position to pick up games in the 2nd half.

 

If we can't get to that point by the break, than I'd say we are in trouble.

 

Part of this is based upon my theory that Cleveland will fall back to earth and we have Detroit and Minny still close to us as well. So by and large, I think we might not see 90 wins even being the magic number in our division at this point. So if you can get to the break at .500 and than play 9 games or so over after that point, you'd be just fine.

To me, this team has exactly one month to turn this s*** around. If there isn't considerable progress then moves HAVE to be made. Don't mess around and wait until the deadline. Everybody is fair game.

I have no choice but to assume that's a loss. So that's 11 games below .500. If in two weeks we're 15 or more games below .500 then it's time to punt the season.

The furthest last year's team was under .500 was 9 games on June 8. I think that's a valid comparison point. Yeah, they get to 15 games below, then it's time to get the kicker warmed up.

I just hope they are targeting the right prospects for the trades that will be coming.

 

I don't see this team doing squat on this road trip and at some point everybody will be in agreement the Sox buried themselves in one simple 5 week span to open the season.

Only way they'll pull off a real prize is if they target a low level player, but they have high bust rates too

A trade triggers an escalator paying $1M raise to $15M annually, plus a guaranteed fifth year paying $15M for 2012.

 

That clause is no longer in effect for Buehrle.

 

HOWEVER, as a 10 and 5 player, he can block any trade, so that makes things a lot more complicated.
