Iowa guy, highly rated. But the Bears really don't need a DE.

I'd have Ballard playing on the inside not the outside. But he is quick enough to be a pretty nice DE opposite of Peppers. Very complete too cause he can play the run as well.

Plus, the Bears seem to like those dlinemen they can play at DT and End. They like versatility.

Eh, I guess we don't think Manning will be back. I didn't think Safety was near as high on our list. But if he and Wright can pan out it would be nice for our D. Just thought we had other needs.

Ya, I"ve heard of him. He was a 1st team Pac 10 All American. Great college player. Was shooting up the boards the past couple weeks.

 

Mike Mayock is absolutely raving about him. And Mayock is probably my favorite analyst.

WOW...unless I missed it, ESPN totally ignored the Bears pick. They just said they'll recap the last few picks...and started with Radiers and went to Jets and totally skipped Conte.

There are 32 CBs rated higher than Conte. 18 of them are still undrafted. Plus 6 safeties.

I dont think Conte will be anything more than a special teams player, but we'll see... hopefully Wright starts all season.

JA is just an arrogant SOB. Conte might be a good pick but he always does this every year. At least Carimi and Paea seems right for their rounds and fills a need.

Mallett's a raw talent, but why draft him? They don't need a QB.

Cause Bill isn't going to pass up that kind of talent in the 3rd round. Mallet under the right tutelage will be a pro bowl quarterback and um...ya he's under the right tutelage.
