GT: Chicago White Sox @ LA Dodgers

Might as well have Treanor bring back memories of Carlos Guillen's walkoff squeeze to end the 2000 AL Division series.

God, this series has been miserable for the Sox.

The Tigers will only be 3 games back if they were to lose this game.

What will Thornton manage to do now? Can he actually get a key out against a LHB or wil the ball dink in somewhere, somehow....?

Wish we gave Abreu this amount of respect last inning and kept in the lefty to ensure he couldn't be used.

I would have pitched to Abreu.

Now we have to deal with this asshole bunting

What is the OF doing so deep?

Ironically it was a no doubles defense

QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 07:02 AM)
Clearly that goes on both. Its not like Matt didnt have a game ending Wild Pitch yesterday.

Aided greatly by AJ's defensive apathy.

But that wasn't yesterday, it was Friday night.

Thornton absolutely can NEVER EVER in 100 years come up with a key out when we need it.

God, it's so tiring, year after year after year.

Goddamn.

Ah crap my bad

Thanks, Matt! Trade him already.

f*** that series. Jesus Christ.

What a s*** series.

That's the ol' ball game.

Terrible, this one is on Ventura. Hooray for rookie managers.

Matt Thornton is a bad pitcher.

Wasnt this to be expected? Its either Robin or the guy who likes Fidel Castro.

Matt Thornton continues to throw low fastballs that completely negate his velocity. I'm so happy Cooper went out there to share his words of wisdom.

Matt Thornton gave up two soft liners to left field

This one is on Ventura

Ventua and Danks2

He just hasn't got the job done, no excuses. When a big out is needed, he's been unable to get it. How about he miss a bat once in a big spot this year?

They should just put Thornton on the waiver wire and see if anyone will claim his salary.

I'm convinced that even if there was a runner at 1st or 2nd instead of 3rd, he still would have managed to choke the game away somehow.

It's what he does.

Once again, another hitter well under .200 against LHP comes through against Thornton.

Wouldn't that have been caught if the outfield had been playing up like they were supposed to? Why were they playing so deep? Neither one of them could have thrown Gwynn out on a fly ball that deep.

.....What game were you watching? You do realize that the two batters were Gwynn and Gordon, both of whom have no power, yes?

Not so much.

I gave up defending this guy a few weeks ago. Wish we could have dealt him.

The game winner was a hit no matter what. Playing Gwynn so deep to left is ridiculous though, as he couldn't homer to the opposite field if he was swinging from second base.

There were two outs.
