Sox want Grienke "badly"

Featured Replies

Greinke scheduled to pitch in 48 hours. Many think he'll be traded by then. I hope he is, so Kenny can either get his man or have another 48 hours to do something else.

The price tags are very high right now, but no one is buying yet. It will be interesting to see when the prices start falling.

Yeah I wouldnt really be worried about Reed etc in a Felix deal.

reed + 2 of anything else from the minors is perfectly fine by me.

With the price as high as it is for Greinke, I'd bet money Kenny is on the phone to other teams.

correct grienke talks are dead

I am so happy to hear that. Nothing being thrown around sounded very appealing.

Those 3 tend to be the best I've seen on here.

Doc probably has had the most accurate of the 3.

The only way it made any sense for the Sox to give up their top young guys for Greinke is if he would have signed an extension. That won't happen, and the Brewers want prospects, probably whose arb clocks haven't started. Other teams are better a better match for that. There are other guys who will make the Sox better and not have such a high cost. Out on Greinke could be a blessing in disguise.

This. I really felt that the players whcih were being talked about would have made us a weaker team, even with Zack in the rotation.

Thanks for the update Doc.

Also thanks for the update Doc, your word and insight is greatly appreciated

I'd rather pay less for Garza or someone else that doesnt get picked up by the top teams due to the GM's initial high asking price.

Thanks Doc.

Now to speculate more.

What if the Rangers get Lee, and the Angels get Shields?

Maybe the Brewers come back to the Sox and take a little less just to move him.

Ahhhh, we're getting Joe Blanton.

It will be interesting to see which organization blinks first. If the sellers don't drop their prices, will the buyers jump their offers?

Probably not.

The Brewers have to blink, not trading Grienke would be a fiasco if they dont resign him.

A good GM knows when to hang up the phone.

I don't think KW will blink so the Brewers have to drop their price.

It is pretty entertaining to read all the speculation on here.

Looking like a back end rotation starter at best.

That's what they need. Someone to get Humber out of the rotation when Danks gets back. Preferrably before Danks gets back if they can go to 4.

I was waiting for you to make an appearance, oh wise one...

I'm thinking we pick up DeWayne Wise to be our 5th starter...
