September 17, 201213 yr So, did they wear green for six months to St. Patrick's Day? I was told the Sox do that, or was that just an exaggeration?
September 17, 201213 yr QUOTE (danman31 @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 04:30 PM) The Tigers have a nice schedule to close (6 against Minny, 7 against KC), but the Sox just have to go, say, 9-7 to close to put a ton of pressure on the Tigers. 9-7 by the Sox means the Tigers have to go a scorching 12-4 just to force a playoff. Barring a collapse, the Sox shouldn't need to do anything spectacular. There's the kiss of death.
September 17, 201213 yr QUOTE (Joxer_Daly @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 04:33 PM) So, did they wear green for six months to St. Patrick's Day? I was told the Sox do that, or was that just an exaggeration?
September 17, 201213 yr QUOTE (Joxer_Daly @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 04:33 PM) So, did they wear green for six months to St. Patrick's Day? I was told the Sox do that, or was that just an exaggeration? They had green pinstripes last week. Probably since they didn't figure they would be home today.
September 17, 201213 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 04:34 PM) There's the kiss of death. Aww come on. I said 'barring a collapse' and 'shouldn't need to do anything spectacular.' I'm aware there's a lot of ball to be played, but the pressure is CLEARLY on the other side.
September 17, 201213 yr Another comforting thing: Detroit's road record is now 34-41. KC and Minny might be the last two series on the schedule, but those two are road series, and the Tigs are 2-4 vs. those two teams away from Comerica in the second half.
September 17, 201213 yr Masisive win. The Tigers have a big chunk at home but the last 6 on the road where they are not that good of a team.
September 17, 201213 yr What a huge win. Those extra two gmaes just change the whole complection fot theses last couple of weeks. It really puts Detroit into desperation mode.
September 17, 201213 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 04:44 PM) De-troit sucks! Rinse and repeat.
September 17, 201213 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 04:49 PM) Mother Nature, thank you for last Thursday! the old 1970's slogan Mother Nature Shines on the Chicago White Sox... All of Leyland's cigarette smoke must upset her not sure what Eric Wedge did
September 17, 201213 yr So, did they wear green for six months to St. Patrick's Day? I was told the Sox do that, or was that just an exaggeration? Today was originally scheduled as a day off, so they actually did the green thing on Friday 9/7. It's usually on a Friday in September but not necessarily exactly on the 17th.
September 17, 201213 yr Huge victory by the Sox today!! The bullpen was just amazing Jones gave up a hit to the first batter he faced and then he and the rest of the pen retired every single hitter the rest of the game.
September 17, 201213 yr QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 05:07 PM) Rios hustled and forced the crucial error to score that run The Sox are in control of the divison on 9/17 because of Alex Rios's hustle??? "Things I never would have believed in March" for $500 Alex
September 17, 201213 yr Quintana pitched around some serious trouble early on - really hung in there and kept us in the game.
September 17, 201213 yr There is a lot of baseball left to be played. They still need to prove that they can beat KC in a series before I look at any magic #'s. This was a damn awesome win though
September 17, 201213 yr QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 05:08 PM) There it is! The Tigers play defense like a beer league softball team in the infield.
