It really appealed to me in college and I was all gungho to work for Deloitte Consulting and had a few friends working there so thought I would have an in, then I talked to them more about their work/life and by junior year I decided I didn't really want that. While I wish my office was closer to/in downtown, I know that if I stick it out there it'll be great for when I move back to the burbs.

My wife told me that she gave a co-worker $10 for gas when said co-worker used her last $2 on scratch off tickets. Then later a customer came in and gave her a $20 gift card. Kind of a pay it forward in reverse. So that makes up for my $4 loss.
