I tried watching Prison Break on Netflix stream. Couldn't get into it. Maybe I'll try again sometime

Man, I loved Prison Break. So much so, I stuck with it way too long.

I can see Lori and Andrea having been over-the-top dumb and the Governor was nutso, but that's about it.

 

All of them? They make moronic decisions that no reasonable person would make in a given situation. Rick especially. It's obviously fiction and all that, but it's still really annoying when everyone watching says don't do X but they do it anyway.

To me there's a difference between problem solving or actions that are logical but slightly unbelievable (think of some of the Breaking Bad stuff - the huge magnet at the police station, the train heist, the multiple jail murders, etc. Every step made sense in context of the show but it's not very believable that someone could pull it off so easily) and just completely inane decision making in Walking Dead that is made purely to move the plot along even if it doesn't make any sense (nearly getting Glenn killed with the well-zombie, everything that happened with the Governor and Woodbury, Rick killing the pigs 10 feet from the fence he's trying to protect even though he should know that the zombies would eat the pigs and then go right back to the fence....which they did! etc.)

 

I can accept over-the-top stuff. It's a fictional world afterall. I can't accept moronic ones that make no sense in the world of the show.

Anytime people interact on a non action level, you complain. Anytime people have emotional moments on shows(not just WD), you complain. Anytime a situation happens where people make the wrong decision, you complain. Anytime a decision is implausible, but made to further the plot(which, all decisions in any show do), you complain.

 

Face it, you watch shows just to tell yourself and us what is wrong with them. Your enjoyment with these shows ends very quickly after they begin.

 

I could look back through this thread for any show you watch and discuss, and there is always a Lori, a Dana Brody, and once you find that person the show is just destroyed in your eyes

One thing that drives me nuts about Sons is why the hell does Tara still have an office and pretty much free reign at a hospital she no longer works for? Especially with the trial she has hanging over her head. I can't imagine any hospital in the country would even allow her on the premises, except as a patient, in her current situation.

Not true at all. There are many shows I love - Breaking Bad, GoT, Masters of Sex, Boardwalk, etc. I don't complain about any of them because they don't really suffer from these issues. Homeland WAS excellent and my complaints about this season are the same as many others out there. When I say a show is boring or certain characters are annoying it doesn't necessarily mean I hate the show.

 

I'm a nitpicker, no denying that, but don't confuse my complaints with thinking there is no redeemable quality about a show.

Im not taking it personally. I stopped arguing with him a long time ago over the issues he had with the show, it is what it is. I turn my brain off to watch the show, its a zombie apocalypse. There isnt much realism in it

That's because most of the people are there simply as future zombie victims. What are we, like a couple of years into the zombie apocalypse at this point on the show? Anyone still alive at this point would, by any type of Darwinian logic, be an elite survivor. And you still apparently have an endless number of morons that will walk right into a shambling zombie. It's something the show needs, though, as people basically only watch for the killings. They just write it so badly.
