Was a reliever who got put into the rotation when Molina got hurt. Added a changeup to his fastball and slider. Pitching coach also worked on his windup as a starter....Everything seems to have come together for him.

In my opinion, the problems are being amplified by him being placed in the challenge assignment, but his overall skill set would struggle anywhere. Minor league park factors usually come out after the season or before next season. After roughly looking at the H/A splits for Barons hitters, I think it plays slightly towards the hitters.

They got him in a transaction from a different AA team, Eastern League I think, Trenton. Not sure we gave up anything, he has been a career backup catcher, never gotten more than 100 or so ABs at any stop.

We interviewed Micah Johnson and he was promoted a few days later too.

 

Apparently the FS interview is the harbinger of promotion.

He and Carlos will be the middle infield I'm sure, but it is hard to say which plays where. They may switch back and forth some, at least at first, to see who seems more comfortable at each position.
