July 30, 201312 yr PK's my favorite player of all time, but if Rangers are willing to take on the rest of his contract this year, they can have him without giving anything in return.
July 30, 201312 yr If s*** is offered I would rather keep him and have him retire a Sox unless he wants out.
July 30, 201312 yr Great trade for Paulie, the Rangers and Sox. He gets reunited with AJP, we get 2-3 prospects. Two of our great winners of all time helping Texas win the WS. Makes perfect sense for Texas. Get it done, Hahn. Paulie can still make contact, he just is not hitting HRs. Is it technical or old age? Trade him and find out. Paulie deserves a shot at another WS. He'd be a hero forever in Texas if he pulls it off for them w/AJP. Edited July 30, 201312 yr by greg775

July 30, 201312 yr Why would Texas want Konerko? Paulie is awful. I'd make the deal just to see Andy Wilkins the rest of the year.
July 30, 201312 yr Isn't Konerko only making like $6ish million this year, and then we have 6 years of $1 million bonuses to pay him? We would obviously have to cover all of those bonuses I'm sure.
July 30, 201312 yr QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 11:10 PM) We wouldn't get anything of use back for Paulie. Why not? It's not like he's got an Adam Dunn batting average. He still gets hits. He is one of those trade deadline signees that MIGHT help a team win it all.

Stop trolling people.
July 30, 201312 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 05:13 PM) Adam Dunn is so much more dangerous than PK at the plate now. Adam Dunn has always been more dangerous at the plate than Paul Konerko. There is this fallacy on this board that Konerko was better than Dunn. The last 2 seasons before this one, sure. Never before that though.

If they decide to move in the right field fences to 250 feet all around the majors, PK might be able to hit a few more homers this year.

July 30, 201312 yr I really doubt Texas is/was serious about this. They want to get better at hitting. They'd just take Rios or Dunn. If money was a factor, they'd go for De Aza Why try to get one of the worst hitters on the worst offense in baseball? Edited July 30, 201312 yr by Jake
July 30, 201312 yr I don't think we'll get anything for him. We'll just end up saving around $5 million. If Paulie is planning on retiring after this year, we might as well hold onto him.
