July 31, 201312 yr QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 31, 2013 -> 01:04 AM) Hey Tim Anderson, what's cooler than being cool? ICE COLD! The hitting outside of Semien and M. Johnson from the prospects in the system is abysmal
July 31, 201312 yr No reason to freak out about Anderson. He's been fine. Sample was small. He was batting .320 a week ago
July 31, 201312 yr QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 08:16 PM) No reason to freak out about Anderson. He's been fine. Sample was small. He was batting .320 a week ago True, but the peripherals were always bad. They just caught up with him.
July 31, 201312 yr QUOTE (danman31 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 08:38 PM) True, but the peripherals were always bad. They just caught up with him. What exactly are you saying?? Are you already giving up on him because of a little slump??
July 31, 201312 yr QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 08:46 PM) What exactly are you saying?? Are you already giving up on him because of a little slump?? I don't think that's what he was saying. He was just saying that his high strikeout rate and lack of extra base hits foretold his numbers eventually sinking
July 31, 201312 yr Semien 3-3 with a BB and HBP. Wow. 3-4 with a K. Boo. Edited July 31, 201312 yr by Cerbaho-WG
July 31, 201312 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 31, 2013 -> 03:15 AM) Semian looks at three strikes? I'm blaming the ump. I've noticed a lot of his strikeouts of late have been looking
July 31, 201312 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 07:15 PM) The hitting outside of Semien and M. Johnson from the prospects in the system is abysmal That's a bit extreme. First we had Phegley. Then there's Jacobs, although that's just a few games. But there's Wilkins, Black, Ravelo, Michael Johnson, Anderson (who hasn't exactly been terrible), Shryock. Jacob May, Basto, Thompson and Barnum have had some moments. It's not all abysmal.
July 31, 201312 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 10:46 PM) Semien only reaching base in 6 of his 7 ABs The most exciting part about him is how well rounded of a hitter he is. He walks, he hits for power, kids does it all at the plate at the moment.
July 31, 201312 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 08:15 PM) The hitting outside of Semien and M. Johnson from the prospects in the system is abysmal Phegley was outstanding in AAA before he got called up.

But there's Wilkins, Black, Ravelo, Michael Johnson, Anderson (who hasn't exactly been terrible), Shryock. Jacob May, Basto, Thompson and Barnum have had some moments. It's not all abysmal. You're stretching a bit on some of those. Have you seen May and Basto's numbers in Kanny?
July 31, 201312 yr QUOTE (danman31 @ Jul 31, 2013 -> 12:49 AM) You're stretching a bit on some of those. Have you seen May and Basto's numbers in Kanny? And most, at the moment, don't consider Black or Michael Johnson legit prospects. Some are big Wilkins fans here...but he's not exactly a crown jewel of any strong system, either. July 31, 201312 yr QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 31, 2013 -> 09:11 AM) And most, at the moment, don't consider Black or Michael Johnson legit prospects. Some are big Wilkins fans here...but he's not exactly a crown jewel of any strong system, either. Michael Johnson is a bench guy, and he's also out for the rest of this season (broken fibula from HBP).
July 31, 201312 yr What happened to the Micah Johnson Bandwagon? Haven't seen his name mentioned as much recently...
July 31, 201312 yr Birmingham Barons @BhamBarons 3m Brandon Jacobs extended his hitting streak to 13 games, with at least one hit in each game since he's joined the Barons.
July 31, 201312 yr QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 31, 2013 -> 10:16 AM) What happened to the Micah Johnson Bandwagon? Haven't seen his name mentioned as much recently... Lions in Puig jerseys ate him
