If Trayce Thompson keeps playing like he has not only do I want to see him, there is going to be a spot for him in the outfield.

So you want to see Trayce Thompson?

Rabbit, what do you REALLY want to see, haha?

Well, that's true, assuming Viciedo is moved to 1B/DH next year and Garcia is 100% ready to go, that gives you two true centerfielders in terms of athleticism/defensive ability playing in the outfield together.

The question, of course, is whether he can put up a 675-725 OPS to make it worthwhile (see Brian Anderson/Torii Hunter comparisons by KW).

I have spotty wifi on the balcony, lol.

But if we move De Aza in July or even just bench him we could end the year with Thompson-Eaton-Viciedo or Eaton-Thompson-Viciedo or Viciedo-Eaton-Thompson.

It gave me a laugh..

So no Thompson-Viciedo-Eaton? lol

Right, it will be a really interesting debate at that time, since Thompson is still in AA and there's a big question whether he would be able to hold his own offensively without at least seeing more AAA/AAAA pitchers first.

That said, Mitchell/Gorkys/Tekotte/Danks don't do anything for me, or for our long-term chances to produce a pennant winner/contender.

And Thompson's not one of our top 8 prospects anymore, so the risk factor (sure, he might fall flat on his face) starts to get mitigated by the "well, we have nothing to lose trying" and there's the learning curve of seeing the differences between AA/AAA and major league pitching. Which he would hopefully respond well to...and take it as a lesson and experience to build upon.

I put Trayce, Davidson, Mitchell and Phegley.

Davidson because he was ready entering the season and I think a promotion could do him some good.

Trayce because if he keeps raking, get him here.

Phegley because it would mean he earned the promotion hopefully.

Mitchell to see if he has anything left.

Beck is really falling off the map after less than a month.

Hopefully he'll rebound. With the dearth of pitching prospects at the higher levels, he's still #1 in terms of pitcher most likely to be part of a major league rotation at some point in his career.

I agree that Thompson needs to hold the line and hopefully in 6 weeks or so they push him up to AAA and maybe he gets a cup of coffee with the sox. Personally I think Danks has the ceiling of 4th/5th OF and will be a solid addition to our bench before he gets too expensive. As for Thompson's ceiling if he can become Drew Stubbs that would be huge. As for defensive positioning I don't think Garcia even at his young age has a future in RF they should move him to LF.

It would have to be Eaton-Thompson-Garcia...

OR

Garcia-Eaton-Thompson (that might be the best overall arrangement...you can't have Eaton in RF, not enough arm strength)

Mitchell has shown he has nothing left against AA & AAA pitching, there is absolutely no reason to call him up to the majors.

I want to see Davidson.

I just want to stress that Micah and Trayce still are starting seasons in AA. This is Micah's first arrival there and it's Trayce's first time having a solidly successful start.

As usual the instinct is to push them higher immediately, but either of those guys making the bigs even in September requires them jumping Charlotte almost entirely

I want Mitchell, so the org can finally move on from him, and Snodgress as I think he can be a piece of next years bullpen. The rest of the guys need more development time and there is no reason to rush them up. Davidson needs to get his head on straight before he should get the call.

I'd like to see Trayce and Micah in Charlotte to begin the second half of the season, they may get a cup of coffee in September, but I think Johnson in particular would have a hard time finding AB's.

Snodgress needs to show he can get guys out in AA first. He hasn't done that. Over 29 starts, his ERA is 5.15, a 1.48 WHIP, a K rate of 5.8 per 9, and a walk rate of 3.9 per 9. This year has not started well for him either.

No one looks ready today. I went Davidson, Phegley and Thompson. But for Davidson and Phegley, it is under the assumption it is later in the year, and that they have improved on key things for each of them.

Thing is, there are other guys, particularly pitchers, I'd rather see than anyone offered on the list. Javy Guerra is A#1 for me right now. Also Rienzo but he's already there.

Love what Micah is doing, but I'm still a ways from seeing him being ready for MLB, primarily for defensive reasons. Also in his case, there are others ahead of him that should have that time on the infield, barring some trades or injuries.

For the person who asked, Bassitt told us he had a non-serious, non-baseball injury, and he'd be back very soon. Though that was a couple weeks ago, so... not really sure.

He's pitching his way to being reassigned to the bullpen to salvage his career. Can anyone comment towards his velocity this year? He was hitting 95 in years past so he could fathomably be of service to the big league team. Everyone always needs left handed bullpen guys.

Early in the season he was way below that, but that may have been a stretching-out thing. Haven't heard any recent readings.
