5/7 vs Cubs

He's hitting 90 and has off speed stuff. And he hasn't looked good either. So not an encouraging comparison.

Funny you put such a premium on velocity considering your screen name.

I like Nieto's swing.. I think he can be pretty good with some more time.

Wood is throwing 88.

I would take Wood at 3.9 million over Danks 14.25 million rest of year and twice on Sundays.

You aren't paying them so what does that matter?

Is this the real Dick Allen? Sure act like him.

You brought up the velocity, not me. Either way Mark Buehrle and John Danks should not be compared.

Yet another quality post.

Matters when Sox say they have expanded the payroll as far as it can go. 14.25 mil can be spent elsewhere. Who gives a s*** who's paying it. 10 games a year I go to I am paying some of it.

Danks has given up a hit and a run through 3 innings. He is so awful.

They are nowhere near that point.

He is fine. They have hit 1 ball hard. You don't have to throw 95 to be effective.

Come on dude, even you have to admit it's a bit troubling that his FB has actually decreased from last year. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Bernstein was quoting numbers that Danks had the slowest fastball among all qualified starters. If this velocity is here to stay, then we're looking at a #4 caliber starter best case scenario, which is not what we're paying for.

I was all for resigning him too, but anyone being objective has to be concerned with how he's looked so far this year.

Did not say they were, but at some point this year they will.

Okay so people are saying his stuff looks bad. What, specifically, about what pitches he is throwing are you impresses with? Curious.

Ugh bad call

For once cannot blame De Aza on that K.

Man, we really need Eaton back in the fold. Beckham & De Aza are never going to get on base enough to maximize Abreu's value.

Abreu 2nd double.

Wood is the perfect pitcher for these Cubans to kill

Got a nice change and getting a lot of swings and misses and soft contact. There has been one ball hit hard in 3 innings.

Thought he would be out. Lake must not have much an arm or it got by him.

1-1 thru 3

Yea it's not like the Cubs didn't put up huge numbers against DFA bait Hector Noesi last night.

Oh wait.

Ramirez got f***ed on the called strike. Strike zone getting bigger. Abreu is very impressive

Good answer.

PK ball died at the track.
