Sale should have absolutely started the 8th. All you people yelling and screaming about it AFTER THE FACT don't get any points from me. Were all of you saying he should be taken out after 7 innings when it actually happened? I must have missed that.

But Sale should have never stuck around the face Trout, or really any batter after Alexei's error, that much should have been obvious.

Agreed. After the first or 2nd guy reached he should have been out.. Pathetic

Chris Sale grabs a bat and UNLOADS in the bottom part of the dugout. Can't blame the guy!

At this point it's fricking common sense. With his PC and DL stint he should've had one batter.

There was a slider to Kendrick I thought he had him struck out on, late movement meant Tyler caught it low but I thought it passed through the zone

JR will kiss his ass because he played for the Sox. I am frankly tired of it, just because you play for the Sox does not make you a MLB manager.

Did they even interview anyone else for the manager's job before they talked Robin into taking it?

They'll never fire Robin as long as JR is calling the shots. The job is Robin's as long as he wants it.

Wasn't on my tablet or laptop to post it. He could have either have been pulled after 7 or given the chance to pitch a clean 8th (first hit given up, pull him).

Why, because we didnt say it here. ? Frankly I shut the ipad off and was ready for bed. I never thought for a seco d he would come out for the 8th. It was obvious he was laboring through the 7th. Cooper and Ventura just lost the game and let our ace throw an extra 25 useless, yet high-stress pitches for absolutely no reason.

The Angels broadcast showed it, not sure if the Sox one did. He went down the tunnel and hammered it off the wall

Ventura is GREAT at grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory during his tenure. :angry:

Please don't be one of these God-awful extra inning games where we use up every single reliever and lose in the 12th-14th.

Almost rather they take a knockout blow right now. Well, no...can't quite agree to that.

Trout was 1-10 against Sale coming into that AB. Cheated on the fastball. It was low, not a bad location. Just Trout was better in that instance.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 7, 2014 -> 11:49 PM)
You did miss that, because I did say he should've been taken out after 7

Really? Because I've gone back twice now and do not see a single person saying he should be taken out after 7, or that he shouldn't start the 8th.

I'll await your quote proving me wrong.

The last thing we need is another freak injury like Carlos Quentin's hamate.

It was a change up low

Pitch out 0-2 :(. Edit: And now base hit

ok hold on

And then leaves RHP to face Hamilton. Have a game Robin

I have no problem with him starting the 8th but it was obvious he shouldn't have kept facing all those batters. Wow this game was won. It's just really discouraging to know that unless Ventura decides to quit, he's never getting fired

Angels turning their line-up around this inning.

Eric Aybar with 10 RBI's on the last Angels' road trip....looking to do some more damage.

Fun fact: 0.62% of pitchouts are successful

5 run inning at Dodgers and 5 run inning tonight because of errors.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 7, 2014 -> 11:20 PM)
After this, who knows if he'll even come out for the 8th inning.

Ok, so this isn't quite what I thought I said. But I wanted him to get the night off

This is pathetic. I petition we start out with an extra run each game due to our manager's utter incompetence. I've defended Ventura for a long to e but this was indefensible

Yes. You don't get points for being smarter than Ventura in your head.

Everyone here are the greatest hindsight managers in baseball. Any great choice is exactly what they should have done. And bad choice is something they would have never done.

It's just tiresome to see.

Of course, would you have any confidence in Downs in that situation?

That's the textbook, default manager's choice that can be defended to death.

ok that's enough
