Sox 6-0 send this one to Cooperstown

Who knew all Flowers needed was a pair of glasses to become a HOFer?

I'll take it. They're either actually helping or quite the coincidence.

Sox 7-0

placebo glasses

Slayer with probably his most productive game in a while.

Obviously he will struggle again, but maybe putting them on did some work psych-wise for him.

Nice play

That was a real nice play by Escobar.

Does anyone realistically expect this to continue when we're NOT playing a Twins' team without Mauer and Willingham/Dozier struggling a bit?

Still can't imagine Rick Hahn make a desperation move to address the bullpen unless it's someone...not, still can't believe he would pull the trigger on a Papelbon.

He isn't trading anyone of good value unless he gets someone of value. He isn't trading for Papelbon.

Flowers now 14 for 26 last 8 games. .538 w/ 6 doubles and a homer.

By the way, looks like Sale's also going to start next Friday against the Twins.

Off day on Thursday.

5-5 season series as of today.

Also, Sale has only given up one XB hit against a LHB all season.

It does create a bit of a dilemma about dumping DeAza or Viciedo to free up at-bats for Garcia.

Don't think they will contemplate that kind of move while within 5 games of the WC.

If they have a good shot, Rodon may be a call up depending on where he is at. H should be pretty strong near the end of August.

As of now Sale is the American League ERA leader.

So he qualifies now? Is he enough ahead that he'll stay on the good side so long as he doesn't miss any starts? Or are we looking at another week of 'drop off after 2 games'?

And that would make Sale the MLB leader in ERA and WHIP.

He might drop off for a day before his next start depending on how deep he goes in this game.

I'm happy for him. It's been fun.

They have no chance, haha.

Yep, this is a World Series team except for the manager. Will you be at Zanie's anytime soon?

Thats not just my opinion.....records will dictate that fact. Robin has personally cost us at least 15 wins this season (real number is probably somewhere between 20 and 25). Using the bare minimum, our record would be 65-39 without those bonehead decisions which would be the best record in baseball.

The best trade we could do this week would be to find a taker for Robin. However, since that isn't going to happen, I hope we go out and block a few holes which help prevent Batman's sidekick from ruining this entire season.
