Batting average is a pretty meaningless stat without any other context. Especially in the context of an .845 OPS against righties.

Ya, and he's batting behind a pretty damn good run producer so RBI opportunities are somewhat limited.

He has a .897 OPS w/RISP, so he's been fairly good in that regard.

Would you recommend them trading away prospects to get bullpen help?

Miller, Gregorson, Belisle, Hochever, Howell, Rodriguez are all free agents next year.

I can't believe people are trying to back up Dunn. And I can't believe people want him back next year.

I would IBB Eaton to get to Beckham.

BTW, Fryer has a cannon.

MLB average runners on base through 367 PAs: 219, Dunn 201.

MLB average RBIs through 367 PAs: 37, Dunn 44.

So he's driven in significantly more runs than average with significantly less opportunities for his number of PAs. So you can throw your lack of RBI theory out the window.

I doubt many, if any, want Dunn back next year, people are just pointing out that quoting his batting average and RBI says nothing about how productive he, or any, hitter has been.

Who wants him back next year? Regardless, he is not the problem with our offense.

Lucky break

He is still horrible and I can't wait until he is gone

Another perspective would be that the Sox are 7th in baseball in runs scored. So nobody's offensive production, or lack thereof, is the area in most need of improvement in the offseason. It's the backend of the rotation and the bottom 3 or 4 guys in the bullpen

It really sucks that Beckham will be leading off the 8th and chances are very good that Abreu comes up bat with no one on base. I can't comprehend how Gordon is still our starting 2B let alone batting 2nd.

Alright guys I get it...

My stance still stands though, he sucks :D

Gordon sucks worse though

Batting 6th or 7th he'd be fine.

Look at the A's, who have the best offense in baseball..

Brandon Moss0 -.257/.336/.497

Josh Donaldson- .246/.331/.463

You can have a really good offense with guys like that in your lineup...

I wish he would bat 6th or 7th, been asking for that the past 3 years...

I get he isn't the problem with the offense but still want him replaced

If they bring in Fien to start the inning, you have to let Dunn bat. It's not like you're saving Dunn to face their closer.

Also if Dunn was hitting .245 or .257 I would have no issues with him except for his K rate

Why did Thompson come out for another inning?

This pen is just so awful. Thompson's fastball barely cracks 90-91mph

If not for the ABs he randomly got against LHP he'd be up there

Since Coop came back the Sox have given up a ton of runs. Thiggy-time

Because Belly is the next man out lol

I guess Robin has given up on this game..

I am surprised Rienzo wasn't brought in for the 6tth innin

Why did Thompson come out for another inning?

Because you have to try to conserve your use of the bullpen from time to time. When Robin yanked guys for walking hitters and giving up runs and the game went 14 innings, it was a fireable offense on here.

With Dunn's number of ABs, .245 vs .227 is 5 singles. You are going to base your hatred of a player based on 5 singles?

It doesn't even matter anymore lol..

There's no one throwing well in the pen for the White Sox. Even those with a low ERA have not looked great of late. There's really nothing Robin can do anymore with this pathetic group.
