Anyone know who the 6 ACE program kids are? I really hope one of them is Pierce Jones.

Better stroke then Beckham. How's the glove?

Anyone know how these teams are formed in terms of boundaries? I taught one of these JRW kids and he lived in South Holland. Is it like a travel team where kids are from all over the area or is this strictly a Chicago team?

Chicago team dominated today.. I hope Jones and Greene (SS) keep playing baseball and one day are good enough to be drafted but the chances are unlikely

It really takes the coaches and parents getting a little crafty.

So they're ready for high school and college than.

Things get pretty sketchy with LLWS. Jackie Robinson is from Morgan Park and I am sure the majority of the team is from MoPo, but once they saw the talent was there, they probably started plucking other city's best players like the kid from South Holland. They don't really regulate it at all. If you all remember years back there was an Illinois team from Lemont that made it to the LLWS. That team was actually the Homer Heat. They started pulling in kid's cousins and kids from surrounding cities. They entered a qualifier as Homer (the city they were from) and got bounced out so they reentered as Lemont and eventually made it.

I have heard announcers say some of the teams are All-stars from the leagues they are in. So they take the best players from their league to go into the tournament.

They did almost double the ratings yesterday than a typical Cubs or White Sox game.

Think Torii Hunter helped as well

Very cool.

Down 5-1 in the 2nd

Carl Crawford sponsored Chicago's Little League WS team. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/29303480-41...ml#.U_CIwhbgXwI … He picked up families' travel expenses to Williamsport.

As well as the Upton brothers and LaTroy Hawkins.

Las Vegas just rocked Chicago today. Too bad, go and get em tomorrow.

Brutal end for TX today, SS chucks an easy 2 hopper over the first baseman's head with the winning run on 3rd to end the game.

Nice to see those chicago kids avoid elimination and advance to fight another day.

I gotta admit that this Chicago team has drawn me in. I'll be watching tonight.

Exactly. It's like getting the president to watch.

Will you call the team if they win it all?

Up 3-0 into the bottom of the 2nd.. They have some slick defenders on their team.

3 more outs

3 more outs

0 more outs.

They're fun to watch.

That closer, Marquis Jackson, is damn good. Between regionals and the LLWS, he's thrown 7 2/3 IP with 1 ER, 1 BB and 20 K. Yes, 20 strikeouts in 23 outs.
