November 13, 201411 yr Last and only few times I heard the white sox connection with him was supposedly abreu trying to sell him to hahn. Other then that nothing on being at or holding work outs for him.
November 13, 201411 yr @georgeofman: Look for White Sox to bid high for Cuban free agent Yasmany Tomas. Power corner outfielder who knows Abreu.

November 13, 201411 yr Reading that fan graphs article about him doesn't excite me that much, a worse version of yoenis but he's young I guess?lol
November 13, 201411 yr QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 13, 2014 -> 03:01 PM) Pretty sure that was from like a month ago. I'll guess Phillies or Padres. I'd guess Philly at this moment.
November 13, 201411 yr I'll guess the Padres. But let us not forget...we didnt hear anything about Jose Abreu until he was close to signing. There was some speculation at first that we would be involved but nothing concrete. I dont think it will be us but it wouldnt be that surprising. Edited November 13, 201411 yr by Baron
November 13, 201411 yr Why would any hitter go to the Padres? If they do get him they must have offered him a lot more money and a starting position

November 13, 201411 yr QUOTE (Baron @ Nov 13, 2014 -> 03:13 PM) They met him with him I think 3 times. They seem pretty interested Doesn't necessarily mean he would want to play for a losing team and in that ballpark.. You would think after seeing the success of Abreu he would want to come here or a hitter's friendly park.. But it is probably all about the money with him and his agent

There was some speculation at first that we would be involved but nothing concrete. I dont think it will be us but it wouldnt be that surprising. There was a ton of speculation about the Sox being a leader from Abreu from day one. Outside of a few stray tweets, I haven't seen anything for us.

November 13, 201411 yr I doubt very seriously the sox sign Tomas. I am curious who he signs with. Most rumors have him tabbed for Philly which sounds about right. I doubt the Padres level of interest since Tomas has to play the field in the NL and then consider playing in the big spacious outfields in the NLW, yikes. Considering Tomas is speculated to get 12-15M annually, I'll tank Viciedo and his 4M thank you.

November 13, 201411 yr Jorge Arangure @jorgearangure 5m5 minutes ago Tomas' agent Jay Alou messaged me and said he still is scheduled to meet with 4 different GMs in the DR in the next 2 days.
November 13, 201411 yr Peter Gammons @pgammo 14m14 minutes ago @jorgearangure He worked out for two teams in Santo Domingo today, Felipe Alou pushing Giants to sign him at 3B, Phils may have to clear $
November 13, 201411 yr Author Chris Cotillo @ChrisCotillo 14m14 minutes ago Where could Yasmany Tomas land? Not clear right now, but a signing appears to be close: http://sbnation.com/e/6981062
