December 10, 201411 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 06:08 PM) Baseball players are such hillbillies. Him and Laroche are gonna get along just fine It's just that most of them don't come from the cities where there isn't enough room to play baseball.
December 10, 201411 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 01:30 PM) I'd be totally ok with that, but that's not how I hear those statements. I hear them as "like Sale did in 2011" meaning "full season wasted in the bullpen throwing 60 innings like Sale did in 2011". Also, what happened with Santiago. Long man. Starter. Closer. Forgotten roster spot. Starter.
December 10, 201411 yr QUOTE (ptatc @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 01:51 PM) It's philosophical difference. What's more important, the knowledge and skills he gains this year by pitching to MLB players and Coop putting him in advantagious situations, while postponing his full time starting assignment a year. Or starting him the minor to buld up his innings to start his start assignment earlier but have to learn the MLB pitching in all situations where he could get his brains beat in while learning. The other variable would be the Sox wnning, the team is much better if he is in the pen as opposed to the minors. If they don't extend JS and next year is the year, it may be the only option. All depends on whether they spend to add one more veteran "insurance" policy like B.Anderson/Masterson or go into the year with Danks/Noesi at the back end written in stone. If Noesi pulls another Erik Johnson April 2014...then there's going to be a lot of pressure to use Rodon (sooner rather than later) when Beck or Johnson are your other best options available.

The White Sox have had success in the past with this, and he would fill a need as well. Obviously, this couldn't be a long-term (more than a season, if that) approach, but if the Sox have a formula that works, they should continue to use with Rodon.

Nice girlfriend. http://instagram.com/p/yK5tLKNBk3/ I hope they keep Rodon as a starter too. Keep him stretched out and if he's needed, he's just a callup away. Is that the girl he broke up with after signing?
January 22, 201511 yr I made this thread title confusing and poorly worded because I am an idiot and like that Borat sketch.
January 22, 201511 yr QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Jan 22, 2015 -> 05:31 PM) I hope they keep Rodon as a starter too. Keep him stretched out and if he's needed, he's just a callup away. Is that the girl he broke up with after signing? No, different girl.
January 23, 201511 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 23, 2015 -> 12:03 AM) Hope a fan asks this question at SoxFest he would be great for a nice callup right after the all star game. start him slowly and when the sox make the wild card or playoff, he might have the freshest arm in the rotation.

Is that the girl he broke up with after signing? No, that was Keely Warren or something like that. This new girl is from Indiana is is/was a Cubs fan.
January 23, 201511 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Jan 22, 2015 -> 05:47 PM) No, different girl. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 22, 2015 -> 07:51 PM) No, that was Keely Warren or something like that. This new girl is from Indiana is is/was a Cubs fan. Ahh, that's right. I think Keely is better looking but maybe its because of the cheerleader pics I've seen of her. So Carlos went front a Sox fan to a is/was cub fan, huh? Should make for some interesting conversations between the two.

Nice girlfriend. http://instagram.com/p/yK5tLKNBk3/ You can tell he's a rookie if he's bringing his GF to Soxfest. Fanfests are notoriously "ripe" for the players. It's why so many of them enjoy going to these things.

January 23, 201511 yr QUOTE (gatnom @ Jan 23, 2015 -> 10:12 AM) I think everywhere is "ripe" for a professional athlete. Think about it. Even the crappiest rookie call up is making half a million dollars a year.
January 23, 201511 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 23, 2015 -> 10:14 AM) Think about it. Even the crappiest rookie call up is making half a million dollars a year. At least. Don't forget the extras such as baseball card license which is usually around 250,000.
