North Korean internet

Featured Replies

Reminds me of a book, Cyberstorm. Kind of a SciFi book around the "what if" countries decided to use cyber terrorism, it was a fun quick read and only $1.

I doubt we had major involvement in shutting down their internet, my guess is it would be someone closer to them (China).

I told North Korea not to switch to Comcast

Their old regime restricted technology so you have to believe they are behind the times a bit.

I have worked for companies that have more computers hooked to the internet than all of North Korea does.

I told North Korea not to switch to Comcast

This is the winning reply.

I don't mind them asking why I cancel - what I mind is that their pay is based on how many people they talk out of it, which understandably results in a terrible experience

I am 100% serious. I worked for an exchange, which by itself, had more internet connections than all of NK.

Something like 15 years ago North Korea started contracting out with hackers in other parts of the world, various places in Asia, to develop a cyberattack capacity.

Though there are now reports that this wasn't NK, but an inside job.

it is funny, the NK blackmails the world for money and then uses that

money for other things. i believe they may have contracted out, if it was

them.

I've seen those and don't have any ability to evaluate them, but it is I believe well understood that NK has contracted out with a team capable of pulling off this kind of attack regardless of whether they actually did this one or not.

The ciitizens aren't allowed on the internet. They have a state-controlled intranet for the people.
