Lawrie torches Royals, Kauffman stadium fans in interesting diatribe while Ned Yost invokes 1st Amendment in defending Lawrie's rights to say whatever he wants as an American.

“That was probably the worst series of baseball that I’ve ever played,” Lawrie said in Jane Lee’s story for MLB.com. “I don’t think you can even call it baseball, because it wasn’t. I’ve never been a part of anything like that in three days in my entire life. It wasn’t baseball. It didn’t feel like baseball. “And the way their fans approached everything, I hated it. The way their fans were antagonizing everything, you know, I got a first-pitch missed curveball up in my head and everyone leaps up in their seat like Bruce Buffer is about to come out. That’s not how we’re doing things.

Lawrie insinuated the Royals lack veteran leaders. “A lot of other teams have noticed the way they’ve been playing,” he said. “It hasn’t just been our team they’ve been having trouble with, there’s been some other teams. This is some tired stuff that’s been going on, a lot of people around the league are watching the style of play that’s been going on.”

I’ve seen camera angles that make the Herrera pitch look lower than the shoulders and I’ve seen camera angles that make the pitch look higher. If Herrera wants to argue it was unintentional, gesturing at his head didn’t help his cause. But the other guys started it and Major League Baseball did not fine or suspend Lawrie for blowing up Escobar. If MLB fined or suspended Kazmir for throwing at Cain, that hasn’t come to my attention. If MLB found anything wrong with Jeff Samardzija hitting Cain on opening day, I haven’t heard about it.

I'll say this. I realize the KC pitchers have our number and quite easily could throw four great games and stifle the Sox. But seriously, all four of those guys are hittable. Ventura is AWESOME, yet he can throw a straight fastball that gets blasted. He's been hit.

Ditto Duffy. He gives up runs. And it goes without saying you should be able to hit their other two starters. If Sox lose 3 of 4 or all four it will be very disappointing to me.

Ruck the Foyals I'd be ecstatic to take 2 of 3.... oh nm, it's 4? I'd be ok with 2-2 but 3-1 proves something. They are not tough like they think they are.

Records of White Sox head-to-head vs. KC

2010=10-8

2011=7-11

2012=6-12 One of the MAIN reasons they lost to DET, along with not beating the Tigers down the stretch

2013=9-10

2014=6-13

2015=0-3

Since 2010, 28-49 vs. KC, including 3-14 over their last 17 regular season games. (59-103 if they played 162 games)

2000's Twins-like.

Yordano Ventura will be making his sixth start against the White Sox, the most he's made against any team. The fireballer is 2-2 with a 4.67 ERA against the White Sox.

• Sale is 7-8 with a 2.68 ERA and a .265 opponents' average against the Royals over 24 career appearances, including 13 starts. He lost his last start against Kansas City on Sept. 17, 2014, at Kauffman Stadium. Sale has a 28-14 record with a 2.70 ERA at home.

• Alexei Ramirez needs one homer to reach 100 for his career. He needs one double for 200.

Good post. I've always wondered what our record was against those pesky Royals lately.

Well we better score in the first six innings, because the last three will be very hard. Royals pen has given up three runs ALL YEAR. 0.58 ERA for relievers.

And they have 6 guys hitting over .300.

It won't last, and tonight the slide shall begin. Caulfield will be in tears.

That was you (and Hawk) when Gordon Beckham made a play only eclipsed by Juan Uribe and Derek Jeter in yesterday's ballgame. Maybe, just maybe...Manny Machado, Scott Rolen and Brooks Robinson, Michael Jack Schmidt.

But 3 out of 4 of our pitchers are also hittable. So they could win 3 of 4.

I hate this Royals team more than I can remember hating any team in recent memory. I need the Sox to give me a sweep here.

Ditto. They're chumps and I love Lawrie's quotes.

Sale in 7 career starts at home against KC: 4-3, 47 IP, 12 R, 50 H, 43 K, 7 BB

Another way to look at it is 21-41 against KC without Sale starting or relieving sometime during the game.

I think you love the Royals more than J4L loves any NBA team in the Western Conference.

in all seriousness, at least for me, it is sCrubs, Yanks, and Det.

i love the idea of getting a new rival, it adds to the flavor of the game.

I will always hate the Cubs the most because their fans are so Cubbish, but as far as individual teams go, these Royals rank up there.

I'm not a fan of Boston fans -- of any kind -- regardless of sport. They used to be tolerable, but ever since this era, they've ceased being the "Red Sox" and have become the "Red Yankees", and their fans act like they're not...which makes them extra annoying.

I also hate everyone in our division.

And I care about the Cubs about 3 times a year.

Edit: Like last year, when I saw people saying, "I hope the Royals win, since they're in our division", I was like...pfffft...f*** that, I hope they get shelled, BECAUSE they're in our division and I hate them.

For a guy who hates to be addressed personally, you sure seem to love chasing after Caulfield.

You don't think he loves the Royals?

i guess i screwed up, i think i should clarify my statement.

as a team. Yanks and Det, sCrubs.

as the fans of the team. Yanks, sCrubs and yeah i forgot about Bos, those fans seems to be entitled and they let anyone and every one know that they are entitled.

that is the keyword, at least for me and my dislike - ENTITLED. Fvvck that shiite. the only team that can say they are entitled is the sox and there attitude, lets get it done.

too bad Rodon isn't starting a game. Their starting lineup had no chance against him in that ST start.

Plus he could plunk 5 or 6 of them and just blame it on being wild, and no one could argue after his last appearance.
