I assume if they were going to postpone it, they would have already done so.

Agreed. Although I wouldn't mind if the game was canceled because then Noesi wouldn't have to pitch lol.

Ventura says Alexei looks a little tired, not swinging it well, so Beckham gets the day at SS.

They'd probably have a doubleheader on Wednesday, which would hurt the rotation given the upcoming suspensions.

Can't believe they're playing, but hopefully nothing happens to anyone before, during, or after the game.

Looks like it's getting closer to the park

C gate at Camden Yards just closed down.

I dont want to get political, but the protestors probably have a point and its important people exercise that right even if it inconveniences us. If the game has to be called it has to be called, but they aren't the enemy for being out there. They're just, like, people and stuff.

Map of area. Red is today. Blue is from the weekend riots. Hopefully that area doesn't pick up again.

With regards to the game, the safety of the fans, players and event staff should always be the most important thing. I can't see how it's safe for the fans and event staff to get to/leave the game today.

Don't like that they're playing tonight. Bad call by Manfred.

I think they're pretty busy looting so hopefully they won't be attracted to the bright lights of the stadium.

They are not exercising their right. They are lawless animals who have destroyed property, injured people, looted businesses and need to be stopped before they cause any more harm. If they make it down to the stadium when the game let's out it will be a worst case scenerio. If they are not going toward the stadium then they should be fiine. However the second they start to head that way all should worry. I have a feeling they will cancel the game unless it starts to get under control.

I think they're just angry. People do silly things when they're angry, sometimes. I think they have a very good reason to be upset. I'm not comfortable silencing them.

Not talking about this anymore, go White Sox.

I agree completely. Go Sox

Can we not Filibuster the game thread?

Thanks.

I was about to say some of you posters were rather borderline with that s***.

So they havent cancelled this game yet? The situation is only getting worse there.

I'm watching CNN right now and it looks bad. Just cancel the series and play it some other time. It's not worth the risk.

As a reminder, keep the political conversation out of the gamethread.

It belongs in the buster and make sure you review the Filibuster rules before reading.

Just spoke to a Baltimore police officer who said the gates to Camden Yards have been closed. Maybe 600 in the park already before closure.

i agree, make up the games later. the safety of all is a concern or it should be.

look how crazy stuff gets carried away, look at the championships games of the bulls and the bull crap that happen and that is will the full force of the police there.

So there's 600 fans in the park and it's an hour before game time. Yeah...they shouldn't play.

They are absolutely nuts not to postpone this.

Play without fans in the stands. The Sox are used to it.
