Second, Beck and Johnson are the replacements and they don't still trust EJ's return 100% as of yet.

Not entirely on the pitching, gotta score more then 2 runs and those two run ls were just given to us

I would say EJ or Beck.. So basically it would be EJ or Beck in Danks spot.. and Rodon stays as he is.. spot start someone to give him his "much needed" rest.

His BABIP has dropped nearly 90 points which hasn't helped. I'd guess a lot of this is because he's making more contact on swings on pitches outside the zone and less contact on swings on pitches in the zone.

 

Eaton contact on swings on pitches in strike zone %:

2012: 98.0

2013: 95.1

2014: 96.2

2015: 87.7

 

And his defence is rating really, really poorly.

I'm fine with Carroll or Guerra too. Or hell even Drabek. There's aren't good solutions at all but at least better than the problem.

I'm still intrigued to see if Danks could be effective out of the pen, able to go all out for like 15 pitches. He wouldn't be worth his contract unless he took Robertsons spot obviously but that's a sunk cost; if we can work a rookie in and turn Danks into a solid bullpen lefty we could actually turn him into somehting useful. Worth a shot in another under .500 lost season.

Never a top quartile IMO, but he is not a very good major league player right now. He is very lucky he got the contract extension from RH.
