Typically, these kinds of obscure records don't really do anything for me, but the fact that it was a record held by Alroid rather than someone legitimate makes it that much more glorious for me.

Congrats to Jose. One of the few players on offense to earn his money.

Way to go, Jose.

Glad that he's still fighting to the end. Resilience is the hallmark of strong character.

FWIW, the real votes on this poll were 17 yes, 13 no (RBI), 2 no (HR), 15 total no. I already see someone voting after the fact

i would also put eaton up there as well.

considering how he stated off and where is avg is now....

Congrats to Jose, I did not think he would pull it off in the RBI category. One of the lone bright spots this year.

i also didnt think he'd get the numbers (i figured he'd be short on RBIs since they're largely affected by people getting on base for you)

this is a pretty big deal if you ask me, he's a special hitter

I don't see how much more "legitimate" it is when a 27-year old rookie does it.

Whether he's 27 or 24, it still is quite an accomplishment. Jose is down about .450 points with his OPS vs. LHP this year or he probably has better numbers than last year. You have to figure that should bounce back, and he should come up huge again in 2016, especially with a better start not only by himself, but by his teammates.

McGwire did it too

McGwire did it too

He only had 99 RBI his second year.

the poor guy did it with Avi Garcia batting behind him. that's pretty amazing. Too bad he can't lay off a few more pitches out of the zone.

Danks said he's never had a better teammate than Abreu. Many players are tied with Abreu for that honor in Danks' mind, but none better

He had 3 home runs and 9 runs batted in in his first season.
