November 24, 201510 yr http://www.si.com/mlb/2015/11/24/erik-john...-pitcher-health Interesting read on how he fixed his mechanics to get back to the dominant pitcher in 2015
November 24, 201510 yr If Johnson is really back on track to being the pitcher we thought we were going to have before 2014 happened, the rotation next year should be pretty dang solid for the next 4 years. And then we still have Fulmer, Danish, Adams and Montas all waiting in the wings.
November 24, 201510 yr QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Nov 24, 2015 -> 03:23 PM) If Johnson is really back on track to being the pitcher we thought we were going to have before 2014 happened, the rotation next year should be pretty dang solid for the next 4 years. And then we still have Fulmer, Danish, Adams and Montas all waiting in the wings. Unfortunately only 5 spots. Have to dip into that depth for bats.
November 24, 201510 yr It was pretty well known he made mechanical changes going into 2015, so we know his rebound wasn't just luck. But this is a nice in-depth look at the details of the change, which is great to see. By the way, note how Erik speaks. He's an over-analyst, always has been. Very intense. Konerko on the mound. He was that way when I interviewed him both in 2013 and 2015, and I've heard others who've spoken to him say the same thing, so it wasn't just the mood he was in at various times. It is who he is. On the one hand, that means he can adjust well. On the other, he may tend to over-adjust at times and get into deep ruts.

November 25, 201510 yr Call me crazy, but I think EJ has the ability to be a #3 starter in this league still.
November 25, 201510 yr QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Nov 25, 2015 -> 07:38 AM) Call me crazy, but I think EJ has the ability to be a #3 starter in this league still. If we trade Q, that may happen sooner rather than later.
November 26, 201510 yr Haven't read the article yet but just saw a segment on the MLB Network about the changes Johnson made to his delivery and showed video example of it and its night and day. To put it in a nutshell to me his delivery now looked more compact, everything closer to his body and head . He went outside the organization to make these changes so despite the Sox reputation for developing pitchers he went elsewhere and very glad he did. To me it's no big deal. You get the help where you can find it. They brought up how when Roy Halladay was young he was getting hit around and threw over the top . Mel Queen then changed his arm slot to more 3/4 and it made all the difference. Looking forward to Johnson becoming the pitcher he could be if he's not traded. Now having read the article its was also Verducci on the MLB Network talking about EJ. Edited November 26, 201510 yr by CaliSoxFanViaSWside

November 27, 201510 yr QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 27, 2015 -> 02:57 AM) That's fine with me. Me too but it seems like most posters on here want us to sit on our hands and keep all of them and make no improvements.
November 28, 201510 yr QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 28, 2015 -> 07:11 AM) His advanced MLB numbers where still horrific. Huh?
November 28, 201510 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 28, 2015 -> 08:35 AM) Huh? Dick's right, Johnson put up a 5.93 FIP in six starts. I'm not overly concerned, as I'd assume most of his struggles were due to nerves and a tired arm.
