  • @thekapman This White Sox story is one of the most bizarre I have seen in a long time. Good sources tell me it was a condition of LaRoche signing here.   @thekapman You are wrong. 100% that he coul

  • I lost a lot of respect for Adam Eaton. Going to the media and sharing sensitive details about what went down behind closed doors is bogus.

It would be a nasty grievance, and an easy one to prove.

B&B have no idea what the issue being hinted at is

So he retired b/c they wouldn't let his kid in the clubhouse. Lol. Wow.

That's VERY impressive. Winner. Dejan Kovacevic added,

Tebow to Bears @GrobsteinCaller

@Dejan_Kovacevic @whitesox They didn't want his kid in the clubhouse this season like he was last year.

To his credit, I understand completely. He's said for a while now how having his son travel with him is so special.

This is what it sounds like. Kovacevic basically confirmed on twitter. They told him his kid couldn't be in the clubhouse anymore. Good for them if true. There is no reason for that kid to be in the clubhouse.

Sounds like the kid was extremely professional and well-behaved, but I don't disagree with the decision.

I could understand why a bunch of new players with big personalities wouldn't want a kid in the clubhouse though.

It's also suspect parenting.

I highly doubt anything about this retirement will reflect badly on the White Sox. There is just so little smoke on this.

That doesn't make much sense either. One article I read said his kid has his own stall in the clubhouse this year. Why would they kick him out now? I can see a no kids rule, but I really don't think he would walk away from a profession because of this.

I wouldn't want my kids growing up around Lawrie and Latos either :)

i am a parent. i have this crazy idea but maybe the kid should be in a school. daily suffering builds character dammit

lawrie taught the kid Edward 40hands lol

Makes you wonder what the meeting with the players was about. I'd imagine they had a say in the new rule.

But Ozzie did!

Oh.

LOL this sure stinks on the Sox' end!

Your kid sit with you at work all day?

Should have never been allowed in the first place.

No, but that he would only stay in the sport if he could spend as much time as possible with his son.

If this is all true, hopefully the Sox have learned a valuable lesson going forward.

If the kid in the clubhouse story is accurate I can understand it from all sides. I don't fault the Sox or other players for not wanting someone's kid there all the time and I don't fault LaRoche for wanting to retire if he can't be with his kid. It sounds like he chose his kid over baseball and you have to respect that.

I really have no issue with either side of this.

The White Sox have every right to make a rule against children if they feel it affects winning baseball games.

If family is that important to LaRoche and he would rather walk away from the game and the money, then that's his business, he has every right to.

Yep, don't sign Antonio Cromartie
