too soon to blame Steverson? last year historically bad offense...

I always need a scapegoat

He really doesn't seem to be doing anything to instill any confidence in these guys. Granted, guys like Avi, Rollins and Avila are complete wildcards as to whether or not they can hold their own as ML hitters, but if those guys are going to have any hope at all, they need a solid hitting coach to at least instill confidence in them. They look like they have none whatsoever.

It's really amazing how often they bring in players and all of a sudden they forgot how to hit. Don't know how Stevenson still has a job.

Avila is definitely gonna follow in the footsteps of Keppinger and never be heard from again after his Sox career.

Petricka's getting an insane amount of grounders so far. Limit the walks and he'll be good.

The offense has gotten worse every year with as hitting coach. Even stone was saying last year how the offense really hasn't been good under him

You think these guys know how to hit elsewhere, then come here and Steverson makes them suck? Really?

yikes

Jose Abreu is now batting .193. He's 4 for his last 36.

I just really question our advanced scouting, as our hitters always seem to play into the strengths of the pitcher.

The idea of scoring 3 runs seems astronomical.

These first pitch outs are ridiculous. Is Frazier really going up looking first pitch slider to lead off an inning? If so, that explains why he's sucked so far.

It's easy to blame the hitting coach. At some point, if it's not working, you make a change for the sake of change because that's what happens. Steverson doesn't deserve all the blame, but who gives a s*** if he got canned?

Awesome patience.

I don't mind first pitch swinging if you get a good pitch to hit, but that wasn't one.

Finally!! Melky!

The swinging at the first pitch is the dumbest thing in the world.

There's one!

There we go...notice the pitch was right over the plate!

We don't play for ties... two more

About f***ing time

MLB.tv delay got me.

I disagree swinging at first pitch is dumb when they've seen a lot of 83mph fastballs down the middle.

So what guys have come here or been here that have excelled after Steverson took over not naming Abreu and eaton

Weaver and Danks are similar in that they don't have the stuff to get outs in the strikezone. If you force them to throw strikes, you can blow them out

Even if you get a meatball?

Even if you get a meatball?

They are all meatballs when it comes to Jeff Weaver.
