June 21, 20169 yr That's about the last thing this battered bullpen needs. Reminds me of August 2010, when Sox bullpen guys were dropping like flies, they had no one to replace them and they fell out of the race after leading the division if I recall right on August 1. Mark

June 21, 20169 yr Beck has actually been pitching better in the pen. Last three games he's gone 5 1/3 scoreless with only 3 hits, no walks and 5 Ks. Last 10 outings, 30 innings, 27 hits, 10 walks, and 25 Ks. He's allowed 9 runs in that stretch, but 5 were in one outing.
June 21, 20169 yr This really aggravates me about Putnam. He has been hurt for over a month and should have been on the DL. He was unable to pitch so many times in May/June and because Hahn did not put him on the DL it caused issues with the Sox bullpen depth.

He has been like that every season he has been with the White Sox. He can be really effective, but he's not going to have the availability of most relievers.
June 21, 20169 yr Danks must have really been finished with that release and the Sox to eat that salary…. If he had anything left in the tank he could at least have been used to soak up innings...

Danks was the only blemish in the pitching staff at the time of his release. Beck should be interesting. His K/9 is up coming out of the pen. At least he's a former starter and should be able to go a few innings on Thursday...
