Chicago White Sox vs Minnesota Twins 6/29/2016, Shields vs Nolasco, 7:

We really should start giving Saladino some time in the OF. He's got a better bat than both Avi & Shuck and would likely be as good of a defender as either of them (and very likely better than Avi). He could be Ben Zobrist lite if used correctly.

Read today that sox won't put Saladino in the outfield due to his past with TJ surgery

Avi is no longer the worst defensive RF in baseball. Kendrys Morales is playing RF tonight for KC. First time since 2008.

DH Abreu, 1B Todd and 3B Saladino then

Actually was wondering about that as I typed my post. That's really too bad, because it would be a great way to get him some playing time while improving an area of need.

Made a decent play out there to take away an XBH

The question begs to be asked and answered- has he ever played the OF?

They gave him some looks in AAA, not sure if that was before or after his TJ.

Huge batter for Shields here

Better option then Avi or not?

He's one of the better players on the team.

Shields with a 3.27 ERA in his last 11 innings pitched.

Fwiw, two of those runs were on Fat Albers.

The guillotine hovering over Hahn isn't quite so oppressive...he can loosen his tie collar a bit and roll up the sleeves and get back to work on trading for more high-paid veterans.

He always gives you a full effort, that's for sure. Wish everyone on the team had his attitude.

If we had another outfielder (Jackson or trade) to replace Avi, Saladino at 3rd, Frazier at 1st and Abreu at DH would be workable.

Obviously, Tyler didn't quite cut it last year at 3rd, but he seems much more comfortable/confident this year. Like he fits in more and feels like he belongs at this level, instead of trying to prove himself every time out.

Of course, that arrangement would also block Morneau (eventually).

As a way to get through the next week with Melky out, it's as good as anything, I suppose.

Saladino, more often than not, does something positive when he gets playing opportunities.

We have 5 OFs on the roster with Melky being healthy.

Heard that when they held Garcia out for a couple days it was tivworkvin his swing in hopes he would hit the ball in the air. In the last two games I don't think he has lifted one yet

Saladino currently at a 726 OPS.

Anderson 787, Garcia still a paltry 662.

Don't want to discuss Coats or Shuckster.
