  1. never been in a fight. Closest we got was confronting a guy who just slapped a girl but he ran in his truck and drove off. I was willing to kick his shins.
  2. QUOTE (HawkDJ @ Aug 19, 2008 -> 02:29 PM) So I'm a huge Obama supporter and registered to vote in Illinois. I'm away at school in North Carolina and just realized my vote would probably mean more if I register in North Carolina, it seems there is an off chance we could go blue this year whereas Illinois will most definitely go blue. What do you guys think? If I want to do this, how do I go about canceling my Illinois registration? I was in the same situation in Missouri. I registered in Missouri. Check if there is a democratic office or an Obama office in your town and I'm sure they can help.
  3. yeah that's pretty stupid. I'm going to do drugs in my roommates room now. I guess I just like him for his "noun, verb and 9/11" quip
  4. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Aug 19, 2008 -> 12:55 AM) no offense, but lot of elected Democrats are bats*** crazy. not compared to the constitutional party's platform.
  5. I think Biden is a lot like what McCain is. Then what does McCain have then?
  6. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 19, 2008 -> 12:58 AM) I wonder how much range at 1B that Aaron Gray would have? He is over 7' after all. that would be SICK!
  7. QUOTE (G&T @ Aug 19, 2008 -> 01:16 AM) I think there is a simple explanation for the "slow down:" not much to say that hasn't been said. What I mean is, when someone posts I can almost predict the reaction. I'm sure other people can too. I think this is why there is more activity in the non-baseball forums where conversations aren't as predictable...or so it seems to me. and you see the people are still there when something like the KGJ trade happens.
  8. specifically the past two weeks seem to be pretty busy for a very young group of posters that very much make up a large part of this site. I don't really see soxtalk going down hill at all. Still the best sox message board I've found in terms of prospects and analysis. Around my friends I know the most about the Sox, for the most part, on here, I just read and react because some are so great at explaining the team and game to me.
  9. QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 19, 2008 -> 12:49 AM) Uribe seems to play better when he knows he's either about to get benched or he knows he's not the starter. If we could psychologically trick him into thinking that way all the time I'd give him a 100 million dollar contract to play SS. threaten no dinner every night.
  10. urgh...I think biden is hilarious and very knowledgeable on foreign affairs which is probably a big thing to push considering people worried about Russia but I'm still kinda underwhelmed. I'd rather have Hilldog than those 3.
  11. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 18, 2008 -> 10:51 PM) I realize that you don't feel the same way, but... I personally think that both parties ran better candidates out there in the primaries than they had anytime in my lifetime. Not that that is saying a lot, but, its progress. I therefore think its all the more important to show up at the polls in 2008. And yes, I do think Obama is something different than we've seen. Heck, McCain is old guard, but in some ways, he is also unique compared to many recent candidates. great third part to the McCain profile piece in Esquire this month.
  12. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Aug 18, 2008 -> 09:03 PM) I can honestly say I voted for my candidate in 2004. You say the system is broken, but until you stop supporting candidates you don't like, these kinds of candidates will keep perpetuating the system. I somewhat disagree Rex. How many % of voting population voted last year? If 95% of our population came out and voted for who they liked best, that would bring a third party into the fold. I don't really care about a third party though. There isn't a moderate third party they are all batsh** crazy and I hate the coalition system of multiple party governments.
  13. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Aug 18, 2008 -> 11:40 PM) Maybe he was referring to his old state, with something like less than 1% black population. I don't think that's what he was referring to either.
  14. I don't think voting preferences is what he's referring to.

QUOTE (Yoda @ Aug 18, 2008 -> 05:04 PM) First semester in college: Intro Sociology English Composition Intro to Higher - -? Learning Strategy Excited and then again kind of nervous. Take the first two weeks to meet as many people as you can and have as many experiences but then start figuring out the best way to achieve your goals academically. The first tests are going to teach you how you best study. I never had to study in high school and found out in college that flash cards are my savior. For the next four years, don't let things come to you. Push yourself out as much as possible.
  16. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 15, 2008 -> 06:14 PM) Kerry was a weak candidate who ran a lousy campaign. Swift boat was a factor too, but, he could have gotten past it if he were stronger in other areas, and had handled it differently. Well, I think the thing that has disillusioned many people of my generation is that two great men (McCain, Kerry) have been completely undermined by political strategists with outright lies, not misleading facts, but outright lies that dig into the worst prejudices of the country.

  18. at the very least nobody wins any election in missouri by more than 1%. I'm sure our vote for assessor will be incredibly close. But so anyway, yeah no, long as I'm workin here Mo will be blue.
  19. eh I still don't think Missouri will go McCain this election.
  20. all of russia's media outlets are owned by their government so I don't believe it until someone else goes in there.
  21. anyone that does this to me gets a knife.
