QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 12, 2008 -> 09:19 PM) Perhaps to listeners of top 40 rap. I prefer to listen to something with a little more intellect. I'll actually greatly disagree with this, despite the fact that I found electric circus to be a joke of an album. This impression that rappers that talk about shallow social issues are somehow greater than rappers who avoid it is funny to me. Congrats Lupe, you say that coke dealers aren't cool. Here's your medal. Congrats Q-tip, you complain about people stealing your style when you f***ing stole your beats from the seven. So these people that claim they are poets can f*** off, I'll keep the same sonic aesthetic of Kanye and others before I give credence to these losers for making bad music but acting like it's important because it isn't violent.

Willy Tavaras to be non-tendered
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Dec 12, 2008 -> 10:27 PM) Those memories ere from the World Series he was the only Astros to hit well against us, unfortunately, that was also the highlight of his career. Taveras is not a serviceable ballplayer in the American League. That is all. 1. lance berkman 2. If we had a set OF, i'd take him as a 4th.

Willy Tavaras to be non-tendered
yeah I think the fact of his health means he's a no go. Otherwise, if we were to face this season with Owens actually being our CF...then clearly I'd prefer Taveras.

I never really got into classical music. I assumed it was mostly used now for apt violent scenes in Italian gangster movies, or poor violent scenes in Brian de Palma films. But I'm writing a paper about the rise of Peronist governments in South America, and I turned on Beethovens Symphony no. 9, his final composition, and I think the key is this time I'm listening to it REALLY loud. I'm really enjoying it. Now, assume complete lack of knowledge on my part. I know the heavy hitters, your Bachs, your Mozarts, your aforementioned Ludwig von Beethoven. But so anyways rec. me some good classical. I don't like the Romantic era that symphony no. 9 helped usher in, however, so spare me.

Rumors: Sox/Reds Talking Dye for Bailey Swap
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 08:45 PM) Well of course "f***ing trash" is hyperbole, but Homer Bailey is not very good. It absolutely astonishes me that ANYBODY smart enough to be a White Sox fan would have positive thoughts about a potential deal like this one. I've been around as a sox fan long enough to know that unqualified statements like these generally make the poster look foolish.

Rumors: Sox/Reds Talking Dye for Bailey Swap
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 09:34 AM) The Swisher trade and Dotel and Ramirez signings all occurred after the meetings last year. I won't be worried unless the Sox have made no moves by the time I'm back at school. Last year, however, I wasn't as worried about us adding on salary.

Winter Meetings Chit-Chat
QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Dec 10, 2008 -> 08:09 PM) Agreed, Kenny likes to make additions all the way up until right before the season starts. Werent Iguchi, AJ, and El Duque all added after the winter meetings? Nope. All hope is lost. We didn't trade for Ryan Freel, sign CC Sabathia and ... I can't even keep up with it anymore.

Winter Meetings Chit-Chat
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Dec 10, 2008 -> 04:02 AM) Honestly, I think this team is cutting payroll, but for now KW wants to not look desperate, so he's holding onto his cards. Maybe at the end of the meetings when everybody else has forgotten that we are trying to cut payroll or in a couple weeks, then KW makes his move once again underneath the spotlight. He is kinda just testing the market now, if he could get what he wanted he wouldve made the trade. me too, but I thought cutting payroll like 10 mill not like 40.

Winter Meetings Chit-Chat
Truthfully, I thought some posters on here were crazy when they were saying "trust me, this is the team we will put out at spring training", but now it seems that money sent packing really was sent packing. Let's hope we have the right young talent or this could be a long season.

The difference when Common and Kanye experiment is Kanye succeeds, whereas Common has made some truly awful s*** when he goes outside the box. The reason Be was so good was Kanye took him back to his roots with No ID and then Jdilla the next album.
