Your first Album collection/First concert attended

First concert was The Wallflowers. For the life of me, I cannot remember my first album. DMB's Under the Table & Dreaming, if not my 1st album, was one of my first, so I'll go with that. I had a lot more mixtapes and/or burned CDs once those came about. I preferred making my own so I could choose what I wanted.

I'm with you. We don't have any reason to blame GarPax on Nwaba yet. Though the key word is "yet" - I still have zero faith in them until they start making moves that prove they are capable of building a winner. But we'll see. I'll judge the move once we have any idea of what kind of money Nwaba is asking for. I'm assuming it's more than any of us would like.

    FIFA World Cup Russia 2018

I picked a good year to move to Belgium. This has been really fun. And with the U.S. not making it, it has been nice to have a legitimate team I can root for.

Couldn't agree more. The Butler trade was bad, but what's done is done. Can't change it now. It would only compound the problem to sign LaVine to a massive deal and then tie up our cap space with a player who isn't a star.

This is good to see. Smart to let it play out and see what he can get on the open market.

I was slightly encouraged to see that quote. I, too, hope that means they're planning on tanking again. Of course, with the changes to the lottery in 2019, full tank-mode doesn't help quite as much as it used to. But I'll take whatever we can get.

Who would have moved the needle at #7? Or are you more upset with the bad job of tanking that we did?

Yep, I'm happy with it. I said in a previous post that I felt better about Carter than I did Young, Bamba, or Porter. Though I remember some people in here who said they're were going to be pissed if we took Carter over Porter, so can't make everyone happy.

Unfortunately, you are correct. GarPax have done nothing to prove otherwise. It's fun to dream up scenarios, but then I have to ground myself by remembering who runs our team.

I agree with this completely. I'm not moving up for someone other than Doncic. And as many others have mentioned, GarPax's trade history is not great. They always give up more than other teams seem to. So I guess I shouldn't get my hopes up that they'd do something smart after all these years. A lot of folks are talking about moving up to #4, but what about #3? I haven't followed things as closely as normal, but I read that Atlanta would be willing to shed #3 if someone takes on one of their bad contracts (Bazemore or Plumlee). Maybe that wasn't a real rumor. I'm very conflicted on a lot of our realistic options at 7. There are many things I dislike about MPJ, Young, and Bamba. I'm sure I'll talk myself into whatever player we draft because I always do. But as of now, I have real concerns about all of those guys. Oddly enough, the one I feel most comfortable with is Wendell Carter Jr. and he seems to be the one who's ranked lowest of those 4.

The 2018 MLB Draft Thread (Tracker in OP)

Nick Swisher reminds me of the 1st MLB Draft that I can remember following live being 2002. I listened to an online stream because it wasn't aired on TV yet. It was basically just a conference call of draft picks. Times have changed.

Awesome. The guy most of us have wanted all along, though I was starting to really believe we wouldn't take him... This board would have been a real downer if it had been Singer.

    2018 NFL Draft

I have zero problem with Roquan Smith as a player. I do have a problem with the fact that teams were trying to trade up to #8 and we said no. Obviously it depends on which teams and what was offered, but considering Tampa got two 2nds out of it, I'm sure we'd be getting something similar. I'd take that all day to move down some spots.

Not sure there is even a decision to be made here. You decline the option. Zero reason to do otherwise.

    2018 NFL off-season thread

QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 04:27 PM) Well I would counter that now we definitely need a WR in draft, with 4 of our 7 picks coming in 4th round or later. It means Kevin White is now relied upon. The conclusion we have to draw is this: - The Bears deemed Cam Meredith was worth an unprotected 2 million dollar tender but NOT worth a protected $3 mill tender - They left themselves open to losing him then for any contract over whatever idiotic middle difference between 2 and 3 million was Just don't tender him if you think he wasn't healthy, don't do this idiotic move. This is the correct take. I can't rationalize this decision by Pace. We are flush with cap space. 2nd round tender and give yourself one year to see what he has. If he's not the same WR, you let him leave next year and all is well. $3M is nothing in terms of giving yourself one more year to see how he comes back. $3M doesn't even preclude you from drafting a mid-round WR and let him provide depth. Worst case scenario, both Meredith and the draft pick suck, but you really haven't lost much. Best case, they both show signs of being productive and you've got a stacked WR corps.
