  1. I wouldn't be surprised to see Hahn replace Frare with Carson Fulmer again.
  2. Frare and Minaya were called up. So much for Cease being called up. The White Sox will continue to go with the same starting rotation that has a ERA of 6.40
  3. After last nights good crowd of over 30,000 the White Sox are now 21st out of 30 teams in MLB attendance. I'm not complaining about the White Sox attendance. Considering how bad the team has been since 2013, I don't think anybody can criticize the attendance. Looking at the attendance numbers of the 30 teams it doesn't take much to see that attendance is down in MLB. There are simply too many teams tanking/losing on purpose. MLB executive Tony Clark mentioned this recently also. MLB is going to have to do something about this tanking/losing on purpose. There are too many teams going into the season with no hope of getting into the Playoffs.
  4. Abreu is a free agent at the end of this season. I can't help but wonder if he takes a look at this dismal situation and decides to sign with another team in the off season. I couldn't blame him if he wanted to go somewhere where they have a chance to go to the playoffs.
  5. Why Covey instead of Cease? Is Hahn trying to lose on purpose?
  6. Interesting comments by the White Sox TV announcers during the game. Jose Ruiz (of the 6.75 ERA) was struggling as usual when they both said that Ruiz has the type of arm/fastball where he can be developed at his level by Cooper. Is there anybody who would rather see Ruiz than Cease at this level being developed?
  7. The bad thing about Sportsvision was it was introduced before the Chicagoland area was wired for cable. You had to buy a box and pay a monthly fee for only one TV channel. The Sportsvision fiasco was really the idea of Einhorn. I always thought the failure of Sportsvision wounded Einhorn. Einhorn was the one who really wanted to move the White Sox to Florida. When the White Sox agreed to stay in Chicago Einhorn sold most of his shares of the White Sox to JR and he left the scene after that.
  8. This Sunday is family Sunday at the park. The weather is going to be in the 70s. The World Champion Red Sox are the opponents. This would be the perfect day to pitch Cease. You would have a tremendous walkup crowd. You would easily have 30,000 people there. Instead Covey is starting the game.
  9. Simple. Its called tanking/losing on purpose. Cease would be pitching for virtually every MLB team now.
  10. Hahn has one of the best deals going in MLB/Sports. He has teams that lose year after year and he keeps his job.
  11. Keep in mind that Forbes magazine said a few weeks ago that the White Sox were the 6th most profitable team in MLB in 2018. So you're right, they are not moving. Unfortunately as long as this team remains very profitable, JR is not selling the team.
  12. JR bad mouthed Caray and Piersall a number of times. He has also said bad things about Larry Himes, Bill Gleason and even Dick Allen. A lot of White Sox fans always say that JR is very loyal to his workers. That simply is not true. If he doesn't like you, you're gone from the organization.
  13. Its in the book, Chapter 20-The mayor of Rush Street, Page 209.
  14. I always thought that both JR and Einhorn were jealous of how popular Harry Caray was with White Sox fans.
  15. Yes, at the MLB All Star game at Wrigley Field.
  16. The only good thing JR has done as a White Sox owner is make a ton of money. Other than making money he has been a terrible owner.
  17. If Giolito doesn't come back soon, I hope Hahn doesn't bring back James "Big Game" Shields.
  18. Ozzie Guillen was on the Score this morning and he thought that Cease should be brought up now.
  19. How much longer will Nova and Santana be in the White Sox starting rotation? Better yet, how much longer will Nova and Santana be on the White Sox team? In 2016 Matt Latos was in the starting rotation and was 6-2 with a ERA of 4.62. Hahn took Latos off the team. I won't even post the 2019 records of Nova and Santana. Simply put, there records are BRUTAL. I know enough about Hahn to know that he is a stubborn man who doesn't like to admit to mistakes. I think its fair to say that both Nova and Santana are not only mistakes, they are disasters. The White Sox best pitching prospect is Cease. Every other MLB team would love to have him in there rotation now. Yet he hasn't been brought up and the team is subjected to two bums like Nova and Santana.
  20. At this point in time one would have to say the Rick Hahn era has been nothing short of a major failure.
  21. You stick around working for JR IF you get along with him. If you don't get along with him, you're gone. The best and most productive GM that was hired by JR was Larry Himes. Himes didn't get along nor did he like JR and he was gone. What always got me about the Himes incident was after JR essentially fired him, JR went on all the TV and radio shows and bad mouthed him to death. It was a low class thing on JRs behalf. JR also didn't get along with Harry Caray and Caray was gone. JR called Caray scum after he left the White Sox.
  22. It was mentioned at one of the season ticket seminars a couple of years ago. Hahn really has a great gig going for himself. He has the worse won-loss record of any MLB GM the last 6 years and he keeps his job.
  23. Maybe not. Hahns contract runs out after this season. Another 100 loss season might send him to the unemployment line.
  24. I realize that the 2019 White Sox season is another season of tanking/losing on purpose/and a lost cause. Still, look at 3 of Hahns off season moves. If Alonso, Nova and Santana were traded today you couldn't get a bag of balls for them. On top of that millions of dollars are being spent on these stiffs. Hahn won't spend big money on premium free agents but will waste millions of dollars on Alonso, Nova and Santana.
