Probably old since it's ready for opening day but the press release just came out and the first I heard of it. Anyone know what it's taking the place of? They had good beef sandwiches at that booth in 112 nut that's all I can think of. I find it poor location so close to the bullpen bar

White Sox to open Xfinity Zone at the ballpark

Partnership with Comcast brings new, digitally-advanced restaurant and bar to U.S. Cellular Field concourse

This season, the Chicago White Sox have expanded the club's partnership with Comcast and will open the Xfinity Zone at U.S. Cellular Field. The new 2,200 square-foot bar and restaurant with digitally-advanced video technology on the 100 level of the ballpark is located near the right field corner of U.S. Cellular Field (across from section 112) and is set to open on Opening Day (Monday, March 31).

The Xfinity Zone offers yet another food and drink option at White Sox games, while giving fans the opportunity to enjoy other games and other interactive activities on 12 flat screen televisions. The new venue at the ballpark boasts a massive interactive social media wall, and provides fans the opportunity to experience Xfinity Internet and TV services, including the new X1 Entertainment Operating System, as well as explore a live demo of Xfinity Home, Comcast's home security and automation platform.

"We are always looking for new ways to enhance the fan experience at the ballpark," said Brooks Boyer, White Sox senior vice president of sales and marketing. "Comcast has been a tremendous partner over the years, including their support of the Xfinity Fundamentals Deck. The Xfinity Zone now becomes one of the most unique and exciting additions we have made to the ballpark to-date. The technology is second to none, and coupled with our reputation of unrivaled food offerings and quality, we feel Sox fans will quickly make the space a must-visit destination at the ballpark."

The Xfinity Zone will feature a complete food menu with new items such as the Ultimate Turkey Club and the Supreme Corned Beef, in addition to ballpark classics like hot dogs, sausages, fried mac and cheese bites, the walking taco and the Irish nacho helmet. Fans will be able to enjoy their food with a beverage from a full-service bar in the Xfinity Zone, which will include draft, bottled or can American premium, import and craft beers, including MillerCoors products. The bar also will offer a variety of cocktails, wine and soft drinks. Food and drink service starts when the gates to the ballpark open and concludes in the seventh inning.

"Comcast is looking forward to hitting it out of the park with our new Xfinity Zone at U.S. Cellular Field," said David Williams, Comcast's regional vice president of marketing and sales and a White Sox fan. "Not only will fans be able to enjoy the game in a really cool setting, the Xfinity Zone will give them the opportunity to experience our TV, Internet, home phone and home security and automation services first hand. We'll even have sales staff on hand that can assist and sign up customers."

The Xfinity Zone also will host behind-the-scenes game-day experiences for Xfinity. The new bar and restaurant joins Comcast's existing 15,000-square-foot Xfinity Fundamentals Deck in left field at the ballpark, which opened in 2005 and is devoted to baseball skills and development of young White Sox fans

It's where those video games were at.

I personally cannot wait to try their home phone.

I'm just glad they're finally adding a massive social media wall to the park. How else can fans access Twitter at the ballpark!? It's really what the consumers have been demanding. I foresee surpassing 2M fans this year.

To be fair, cell phone coverage is HORRENDOUS is a ballpark named after a cell phone company. It would probably be quicker to check twitter by walking to this new place and check it out versus looking on your phone.

Which reminds me...instead of spending the money on this, can we just have money to put in to infrastructure for cell coverage?

I thought the cell had open wifi throughout the park, no?

I personally cannot wait to try to explain to their sales rep that I live 100+ miles from their nearest service area and see how (s)he responds.

Considering said cell phone company does not offer service in Chicago anymore, it is not surprising. I was a US Cellular customer and my phone always worked like a champ at USCF, but there where problems with the phones of the people I was with from time to time.

I've never been able to actually get connected to it. The site never pops up for me.
