  1. Past hour

  2. Detour over. GO SOX! GET ONE ON GETAWAY DAY!! LETS FUCKING GO!!!
  3. No. You’re wrong. Jerry’s penpal and our next GM @WBWSF is right! End of story!!
  4. lol I’m pretty sure Getz even addressed at the deadline that this was not what they expected to be doing
  5. I miss @ptatc but suspect that his knee isn’t the primary issue in his preformance.
  6. Totally agree. Not having your opening day SP or a single one of your three top 100 prospects who started the year at AAA in your August rotation is a massive failing and needs to be assessed. I get that Bannister has done fairly well with the major league guys, but the minor league development has been atrocious and that’s part of his job too. Changes are likely needed in some capacity and outside additions will need to be over-indexed in the short run to offset. Although to nitpick I wouldn’t say Sandlin is having a bad year. I know you think he can’t get lefties out, but the changeup has been ok, he just hasn’t used it all that much. I feel like he’s flashed enough to be a competent back of the rotation SP, but you have to accept some short term growing pains to get there.
  7. You’re wrong. No rational or reason. Just… No, you’re wrong. So there!
  8. Would be nice but it’s not really “must win” territory
  9. I really think that this and other excuses is a load of phatuey - we could have gotten creative and beat someone’s package or manned up and got Soriano.
  10. I’m aware. They’ll still be able to get some rest since they have minimal travel and some of their arms are being painfully held back from their ideal spots.
  11. If they weren’t competitive, Schultz would still be here trying to figure it out, they probably would have given Smith a shot too, possibly MacDougal too. And none of us would care Schultz was struggling like that because it was developmental. Being competitive changed everything.
  12. Question for the doctors and physical therapists on the board: if Schultz can’t use his optimal mechanics due to his leg/knee issues, is that something they could fix with a minor surgery?
  13. You're wrong. Getz thought this team would contend this year. The only other person who thought this team would contend is me.
  14. I’m not saying they should have gutted the farm system. Development year or not, having barely half a starting rotation is just extremely poor planning.
  15. This isn’t negligence at all. This was a developmental year that surprised every one of us by being competitive. Not one person on this site was thinking playoff rotation in March, we all were thinking about gaining innings and flip candidates This is rough but honestly gutting the minors for a mild chance at running through the playoffs was not a choice I would have made either, and I was excited for the deadline.
  16. I’m of opposite view…either prospect hugging or simply not having guys with value outside the top few
  17. Despite the claims otherwise, the package of work done the deadline screams payroll restrictions.
  18. Wind blowing in now at least
  19. Today (Wednesday) will be the third time in the past six games. That's not good.
  20. I forgot about that bum. I guess we'll be seeing him today.
  21. I hear you but to be fair as I've posted before, Getz never in his wildest dreams, expected the team to be in this position this season. He probably thought it was going to be another development season, maybe win 75 gams so nothing really was done this past off season. Now throw in the Sox unable to keep pitchers healthy anymore, JR refusing to pay the going rate to good pitchers and this is where you are at. That being said Getz may ultimately have to take the blame for not doing more at the deadline. Although we don't know what was being asked for pitchers or what JR allowed him to do regarding the payroll.
  22. Can they put you under during the game to save you the pain?
  23. After the last two long nights I'm fortunate that I'll be at my surgeons office this afternoon for the follow up to the rotator cuff surgery I had on August 6. I'll feel a lot better not following this one. Who knows, maybe they won't urinate away another lead after the 7th inning like the last two nights.
