  1. Past hour
  2. Tomlin is done in Pittsburgh. I think he'll get another job pretty quick.
  3. Do they have a full forum there? I thought it was just articles with a comment section for each article
  4. With as many teams as are out there in financial trouble, it would actually be a great way to acquire talent. Why teams and GMS are scared to do it? No idea.
  5. We don't need to be taking on salary right now, full stop. use any excess resources in the org to continue to build up the analytics and scouting teams in LA and Asia.
  6. I agree. But how often does that actually happen? Who is giving away prospects to unload bad contracts?
  7. If he loses a step, and he will, he won’t be putting up 4+ WARs. Whatever team gives him a long-term contract into his 30’s after this season is making a mistake IMO.
  8. It’s crazy how Cubs bloggers value Nico as basically the best trade chip on the planet.
  9. @Chicago White Sox is still evil for doing that to poor @caulfield12. I wonder if he is through the initial “shakes” stage of SoxTalk withdrawal and if he has moved on to vomiting?
  10. Besides the fact that the Sox already have one bloated LF/DH salary in Benintendi for two more years that they don’t want, and another $20 million dollar salary in Robert that they have been looking to trade.
  11. If the Sox (or Dbacks in this case) would have taken on the full deal, the returns would have been much different.
  12. At best they'd get a back end top 100 guy to take on like 20-30 million of salary. Not sure that's a great use of resources.
  13. Every Twitter string has somebody suggesting the White Sox take on a bad contract to pick up "one or two prospects", like that's a thing that happens regularly.
  14. Yeah that stuff just doesnt happen in MLB. That is a NBA and NFL move due to cap manipulation.
  15. We're all doing a great job working together during this trying time.
  16. Today
  17. This was the point of my post in the old hot stove string. Nobody's sending "prospects" to get a team to take on bad contracts. they sent money and even got a minor league arm back.
  18. He’s still good defensively. For the price, I think he’s fine. I still feel like they need to add another bat somewhere though so he’s at least hitting in the bottom third of the order.
  19. Apparently we don’t need @caulfield12 for our Royals news anymore!
  20. Arenado has been on the decline since the 2022 season. Crazy that these old vets can still get acquired, even if their bloated salaries are mostly covered. He’s not going to improve in his age 35 season.
  21. Cards are sending $26M over (DBacks pay $5M in ‘26 and $6M in ‘27) and getting back an 8th round pick from last year.
  22. 37 mil owed still by the Cardinals. Interesting to see return and what money they send.
