  1. Past hour
  2. Gosh, he's really a little fuker.
  3. Will the Bears be heavy favorites to win the division? Any NFL experts want to predict how many playoff appearances in the next 10 years?
  4. Today
  5. Acuna looked hitterish/homerish in that clip of the four home run game. He could look good in the lineup if he plays the outfield. If Getz acquires two good pitchers now with the savings maybe the Sox can go .500 or so. Use that Robert money to sign two veteran pitchers, no more prospects, have plenty of them.
  6. I like all these moves (outside of Acuna) in isolation. But we now have a ton of guys with no options, so these type of moves create some challenges from a roster construction perspective.
  7. So Getz says we are going to be active now in FA with the 20M savings. Curious what low level vets we bring in this time
  8. Acuña could very well be more productive than Robert next year on his own. Then you have the fact just last year Pereira hit 21 dongs in 297 abs at AAA, the year following being ranked 67. Along with Murray for Steven Wilson and a mid-season dumpster dive. Not sure what kind of return you were expecting there. Not sure how Mead for a mid-season dumpster dive signing is a bad move either. That is literally turning nothing into something.
  9. Mid-season list he must have jumped to #69 in 2023. Baseball America’s player page doesn’t list a 2024 ranking for him.
  10. FWIW, Kelenic somehow hit worse than Acuna did in AAA if that’s possible and doesn’t offer the defensive & base-running value that the latter does. I still think he should have to prove that any swing changes him and Fuller make this offseason actually work in AAA before he gets a major league shot.
  11. Yes, if the Sox sign the right starter, Acuna plus said starter could very well be more productive than Robert. There could also be some money left over from that $19 million. Do I have faith that they will sign a starter like Giolito? No, I think they will go cheaper on a starter to spread out the remaining freed up money to a reliever or two and a cheap outfielder. Three or four lower quality players is always better than one or two better players. It’s the White Sox way.
  12. https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=pereir000eve Prospect Rankings Baseball America Pre-2023 #78 Pre-2024 #67
  13. That has nothing to do with the comparison. If we’re comparing apples to apples, the alternative is as I described and that’s a superior option imo. Go sign Giolito.
  14. According to who? Those rankings are per Baseball America and each guy’s peak ranking unless I messed something up.
  15. The true fallacy is in thinking Jerry will allow Getz to spend the entirety of the money that was freed up by trading Robert. 🤣
  16. Here’s the listing I see: Kelenic (#4 overall in Y21) Vargas (#37 overall in Y23) Mead (#55 overall in Y24) Acuna (#66 overall in Y24) Pereira (#67 overall in Y24)
  17. In theory, the alternative is Acuna + another $19M player
  18. I’m not trying to be funny and I’m not disagreeing with you. But he’s 26 years old and I have no doubt that he will get plenty of chances with a team that pretty much has an entire roster full of unproven outfielders if you consider Benintendi primarily a DH going forward.
  19. Both Acuña and Pereira were ranked higher in '24 than '23. Seems a little disingenuous to cite '23 rankings while describing them as post hype
  20. You throwing kelenic out there is pretty funny. Won't someone just give him a chance?!?!?!
  21. We went from the dumpster in Tucson to the one in Venice Beach.
  22. Vargas (#37 overall in Y23) Mead (#55 overall in Y24)
  23. Also Poles confirmed it was a compete tear. People saying "Well Josh Simmons came back even better" his was a partial tear. I'll still trust @ptatc on this one but a likely 10-12 month recovery from this injury for an O-Lineman is going to be brutal.
  24. The group of post hype OF prospects is something: Kelenic (#4 overall in Y21) Acuna (#56 overall in Y23) Pereira (#69 overall in Y23)
  25. Agreed on Bader. Not exactly the model of consistency and you would be signing him after a big year. Also on the wrong side of 30. He’s turning 32 in June. MLB.com keeps updating this article of free agent transactions: https://www.mlb.com/amp/news/mlb-free-agents-2025-2026.html
