  2. Wow my soxtalk is working at my place. If I'm back, wow. Thank u so much for this report. I'm gonna send to my family. Thank u. Is Medellin known as a tourist town? Does it make sense that the wedding I think is up in the mountains?
  3. Today
  4. Rock all day long
  5. Cartagena and las islas del Rosario in the Caribbean are also genuinely amazing and affordable as well...only major down side is the heat from 10-330 or so in the daytime. And there are lots of truly great Beisbol towns in the North where the Renteria brothers, Shakira and Sofia Vergara are originally from...
  6. ".366 career on-base percentage is the highest by an AL shorstop in MLB history through his first three seasons..." That's just a BIT higher than Swanson/Brandon Crawford or even Tulo. And Correa could at least get 12-15 steals per season when he first entered the league.

Interesting that he’s starting in left.
  8. This really concerns me to hear and I hope it isn’t posturing. If we take Emerson and the Rays do indeed pass on Roch, I will immediately feel more confident in the pick. Just really seems tough to pass up on that kid and I’d probably spend a good three plus years obsessing about it.
  9. Correct. I think they're very similar.
  10. I hope they have a great time. Colombia is much safer now than it was in the past. Like most other places in the world, you won't find trouble unless you look for it. Medellin is a relatively modern city and has made strides in its infrastructure after some successful technocratic mayors. I'd only suggest extra vigilance if they plan on partying throughout the night in Medellin. Obviously don't go looking for drugs or follow strange women around, and don't wander off drunk and alone. The countryside will be beautiful for them. Perfect temperature and the mountains around Medellin hold some of the largest flower farms in the world. I think only second behind the Netherlands. I would highly recommend touring some of the farms if they can, or taking some horseback rides like caulfield mentioned. It is truly gorgeous. Many people recommend a tour of Guatape and climbing the Guatape rock is a big tourist activity. It is pretty, but I also found it to be a pain in the ass getting up it, especially on a hot day. Should be mindful that it's a taxing hike if anyone has mobility issues. Lastly, they should gorge themselves on empanadas. They'll salivate the rest of their lives thinking about them 😁
  11. If that is really true then I hope that Emerson is the pick and trust that they know more about Rich / Lackey / Emerson than I do.
  12. I think of Roch’s ceiling as being there.
  13. Everyone in the universe with half a baseball point of IQ knew a first pitch fastball was coming and that he was swinging. If he bounced a curve he would have gotten strike one. It was awful pitch selection.
  14. Sounds fucking stupid but considering the southside has a large black community, if Lackey is picked and reaches his ceiling then he will be a total star and Caulfield would be completely right.
  15. From Sun-Times Jeff Agrest's recap: "Davis’ home-road splits are stark. In seven starts at Rate Field, he has an 0.88 ERA with a 0.951 WHIP. In 10 starts on the road, his ERA is 4.72, and his WHIP is 1.48. He allowed two earned runs, six hits and five walks to the Guardians. That said, Davis has allowed two runs or fewer in all but four of his 17 starts — all four were on the road." https://chicago.suntimes.com/white-sox/2026/07/02/davis-martin-chicago-white-sox-cleveland-guardians-will-venable-grant-taylor
  16. Cholowsky to Correa isn't a very good comp either. Pre injury Correa was a border line superstar, especially in the post season.
  17. The “who you want” poll is already up… go ahead and make another poll that is more about who they will pick.

Agreed. I get they want him to be a starter, but this team needs some serious pitching help.
  19. From Merkin's recap: "Cleveland chipped away to cut the margin to 5-4 through seven, before Taylor took the mound. There was a four-pitch walk issued to Steven Kwan with one out, but Taylor got through the eighth with two strikeouts and no runs allowed. Bryan Hudson was unavailable after pitching Wednesday in Baltimore and getting hot in the bullpen two other times, and one-time closer Seranthony Domínguez is being used in lower-leverage situations to get him back on track, although he could have followed Taylor if needed. So, Taylor came back for the ninth and issued a four-pitch, leadoff walk to Rhys Hoskins. An eight-pitch battle with Kahlil Watson resulted in a fly out to center, before Rocchio connected on a 99.3 mph four-seamer up a bit and somewhat outside. “Yeah, I wasn’t landing the curveball earlier,” Taylor said. “I was going to stick to my strength. I have a good fastball, especially against lefties. I threw it in a pretty good location, but he was looking for it and got a good swing.”
  20. If we get a dude who turns out to be on the line with Carlos Correa ( I hate that name ) - I would be stoked. Can’t think of us having a first rounder who gave us that much production since the 90s. We are due.

Why are we wasting him in Charlotte? Not good nights for 2 putative members of the sox pen in Gonzalez and Palette.....although I suspect it's Mr. Sandlin who will assume those duties (or Fedde/Kay with Sandlin in the rotation).
  22. Hopefully Burke has something to say about that on Saturday and good Kay shows out tomorrow. Winning those two in a row would be massive. Would love to walk into the final game knowing the worst case is we’re up one and we split.
  23. One of the most disappointing games of the year where their youth hurt big time. SO MANY MISTAKES, EMPTY CHANCES TO CASH IN, AND HORRIBLE PITCHING THROUGHOUT. In a lot of ways they had no business winning that game and in other ways they fucking gave it away. Bad pitch selection for Taylor who also couldn’t get any secondary pitches over… Davis was bitten by the same bug… runners on base were either pressing too hard or playing it too soft… failures to execute with RISP and no outs… Just an awful game that we also should have easily won. f***.
  24. Taylor is usually great; but he's also had about the same number of outings where he's given up runs as Dominguez has. (he got hit in several June outings). Tonight our major division rival beat beat our pitching. They beat our best starter, and, 2 of our best relievers. Thus, not a finished product.
  25. There was a lefty and switch hitter coming up but Fry being PH was pretty darned obvious.
  26. I base 43% of all my decisions on statistical anomalies.
