  1. Past hour
  2. I'd love to grab Buehler on a cheap multi year deal, as a starter. See if you can fix him.
  3. The only interesting thing about this guy is his birthday.
  4. That is a tough list. Marquez and tantalizing don't belong in the same sentence. Maybe 5 years ago. Batters had a 933 OPS against him last year AWAY from Colorado. Nick Martinez is OK, and Mahle won't stay healthy but I've always liked him. I just don't see Gio or Bassitt coming here. The rest of those guys are potential DFA candidates and then Scherzer who isn't going to come pitch for the Sox unless there's no other offer available. Think he just wants to compete or retire.
  5. And you still wouldn’t know the truth by the end of the series.
  6. Hopefully he’s Charlotte’s lefty OF. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/12/rays-designate-tristan-peters-for-assignment.html
  7. So, this is going to be their lefty OF? He played CF the most in Durham in 2025.
  8. Hah, saw this guy was DFA’d. Didn’t look too interesting based on his minor league numbers. Would rather see Noel get acquired.
  9. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/47325229/mlb-offseason-2025-26-free-agency-rumors-update-passan-tucker-bellinger-bregman-bichette-valdez " There are still starters aplenty available. Chris Bassitt is the best of the bunch for teams seeking innings -- only five pitchers have thrown more over the past four seasons -- and Lucas Giolito has the highest ceiling. Nick Martinez and Zack Littell are steady strike-throwers, Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander quadragenarians with enough stuff and know-how to succeed, and Tyler Mahle and German Marquez tantalizing to teams that dream on what they could get out of a full, healthy season. Walker Buehler remains a prime bounce-back candidate, Patrick Corbin a lefty who can pitch forever and Michael Lorenzen an ever-ready swingman. Depending on prices, truly every team could target this tier. Among those who have been most aggressive in mid-tier pursuit, according to sources: the White Sox, Orioles, Angels, Nationals, Mets, Padres and Diamondbacks."
  10. Interesting news. I do think the price will be too high for some of those guys and they will ultimately be priced out of the Sox range.
  11. Passan's article on the state of the market right now: Passan's MLB free agency, trade intel on Tucker, Bregman, more - ESPN
  12. I need like a 4 part episode where it is told from Jerry's View, Kenny's View, Rick's View, and Chris's View.
  13. That can’t be the basic rules. But it is a quantum theory outcome that by definition does exist.
  14. Getz was a Trojan Horse of basic competence. We were bamboozled. But this should be easy. Just copy Ryan Poles’s plan, but don’t copy any of his work until last year.
  15. With a good GM, most of his hires will appear to be more qualified.
  16. Hahn would probably make a good contracts guy. He wasn't a good team builder and let areas atrophy under him.
  17. That can happen when the guy that was hired to be Getz’s assistant GM appears to be more qualified to be the Sox GM than Getz himself.
  18. Its funny how news of a hire with universal approval still results in the usual suspects trying to shoehorn in criticisms of Getz for 6 pages.
