Bonemer to second, third, LF or 1B/DH?

Official 2026 MLB Draft Thread - Day 1 Picks & Discussion
I wouldn't be making fun of the Rays draft room considering they are one of the best teams in the league at drafting and developing.

Evidently Grady is getting close to 10 million. Sounds like both guys are higher than initial projections.

Ugh that really sucks. Bummer they couldn’t negotiate something south of $10M here.

Gonzo & Eisert Traded to Pirates for Comp Pick and Jaden Woods
And just to be clear, you're pointing out Taylor was a 2nd round pick at #51 which I should have done, so thank you for that.

Is Roch willing to accept any of his $10 mill in cash considerations??

Official 2026 MLB Draft Thread - Day 1 Picks & Discussion
I've mentioned it before. But having Bonemer and Roch together in AA/AAA and potentially on the same timeline will be great fun. Might see them both in 2027. Awaits Lip coming in to tell me there won't be a 2027 Season.

Wasserman Agency ... whatever the new name is now, making some serious bank today.

Our draft room looks way better than the dog s%*# the Rays and Twins have.

Rays pick is in. Unsure if people care about spoilers for other teams.

I'm surprised. I'm used to these analysts not knowing very little about the guys.

Gonzo & Eisert Traded to Pirates for Comp Pick and Jaden Woods
It was like 5 seconds ago that teams weren't willing to trade young bats because they were so valuable, and now dumping a young bat with position flexibility, including the middle infield, for a guy who you hope will be as good as Gonzalez is today, is a slam dunk? I feel like Gonzalez could have been a piece in a deal for an SP based on the last few deadlines, so to see him go NOW for hope 3-5 years down the road is just strange.

I can't get too caught up in this.

Taking him off SS/3B wipes out a lot of his premium defensive value off the table ...at least 2-3 fWAR.

Will the Sox other 2 picks be made today as well?

Gonzo & Eisert Traded to Pirates for Comp Pick and Jaden Woods
This was bound to happen eventually. Success leads to an over abundance at times. Gonzalez is 24 and 25/26 is the age where you become like Tristan Peters and Peters had defensive value and speed. What happens with Gonzalez with the Pirates is more crucial to how he turns out than his time with the Sox. He doesn't exactly have a permanent position with the Pirates either. Every day he sits on an MLB bench or goes back to the minors his clock is running on hitting and fielding at a level necessary at his position to stay on the field. Hahn had his Tatis blunder. Let's hope Getz doesn't have one that equals that when deciding who to keep and who to trade. Bu teams with a lot of talent eventually trade away talent at which they only got a fleeting glance . Mead and Gonzalez fit that description . How they perform vs how the ones the Sox decide to keep is crucial to the sustainability of the prospect pipeline and success on the field.

Law makes most his clicks being contrarian to the industry. He'll never change. Too much money in his role as gadfly.

I think that makes more sense than Thome. College juniors are obviously much harder to float to a specific pick, so makes more sense if there is a college arm they love and were aggressive in increasing their chances in getting him.

Oof. Now I like it less.

I’m surprised KLaw didn’t think it would be Roch. Despite the buzz at the Combine, it seems he was their guy since they won the lottery.
