These are the same people who won't allow information about Islam to be taught in schools. These are the same people who can't handle sex ed being taught. These are the same people who can't handle climate change being studied. Etc, etc.

Warren was stupid to even acknowledge it, but all of this is because the president of the United States continues to call her a racial slur over and over again. He lied about how she benefited from it and people continue to do so. It's just so disturbing how much his followers will bend over backwards to make sure he is never caught in a lie. To them he is infallible, godlike. Has any Trump supporter ever just been like "man maybe Warren isn't Native American, but Trump really shouldn't be going around calling her racial slurs all the time".

I wouldn't mind them building a palace in the suburbs. Why does the park have to be at 35th and Shields? Sell the team to Mark Cuban and build a wondrous stadium out in a suburb in a spot where traffic can get in and out 'somewhat' efficiently. If not, build it downtown Chicago and make it the 8th wonder of the world type building.

Listen to Machado talk about not being a guy who hustles: "That's just not the kind of player I am". Wow!! All of those ex-player commentators made excuses for him. That's fine. I hope he signs somewhere else. I'm afraid that I'm just too "old school". It's hard enough to accept this entire culture of guys with their multi-million dollar, per year contracts, and their swinging for the fences, without having to listen to such prima donna BS. He is a talented player, but not my kind of player. He's just a little too "cool" and full of himself, for my taste, especially if he is going to cost $350 Million.

Any thoughts/opinions regarding the Machado hustle drama of the NLCS? Right off the bat, we know how Ricky is. Machado claims himself to not be a "Johnny Hustle" type of player. It seems signing Machado would be putting Ricky in a tough spot, with his quick trigger on pulling players who aren't perceived to be hustling. If this is how Machado is, Ricky's gonna have to either loosen it up a bit, give preferential treatment to Machado, or treat him the same as everyone else. With how Machado sees himself, Rick Renteria himself could be an obstacle towards signing Machado. He might not want to sign somewhere where he is going to be benched for playing how he has played for his entire career.

There is nothing wrong with our small but hungry fan base, this team has lost more games then any other team in all of Baseball in the past 6 years, don't blame the fans blame this organization from TOP to BOTTOM.

The Sox have lost more games in the last six years than any other team in baseball. The last two years the losses were "expected" due to this rebuild business. However, the four years preceding these last two were not intended to be losing affairs, yet they were, and quite badly. The Sox have three coaches in Cooper, McEwing, and Boston who have presided over all six years, including the four that forced the rebuild decision upon the organization. And you have Steverson who has been in on the last four years of action, including his first two years when the team was expected to contend. So the question is, how long of a leash do these fellas get with this team? Do they get life long passes courtesy of the owner's infamous loyalty program, similar to what the chaps in the front office enjoy? Or would it be better for the development of these new, young players arriving at the Major League level to receive a new and fresh perspective from different coaches.

They really need to decide if they are going to extend him or trade him as well. If they aren't going to extend him, there are other guys they could start breaking in.

Rabbit, I'm glad that we agree on a lot of the bad positions Kavanaugh holds, but the only reason that this came close on confirmation was because of the sexual misconduct allegations (that's why Murkowski did not vote in favor). The Democrats didn't have the votes to stop confirmation, Kavanaugh was on a fast track to confirmation prior to the allegations, and each of those bad positions are kind of Republican talking points right now. TL;DR - it's certainly not the fault of the left that Kavanaugh is currently a Supreme Court Justice (unless we're talking about why Donald Trump was in a position to appoint Kavanaugh in the first place). If you disagree with that point, please show your work...

Since of course you never actually bother to look, here's the average age of batters and pitchers over a two decade stretch. Literally your entire life, fewer than 1/2 the players in the big leagues have been over 30. The time it got closest was, for obvious reasons, the peak of the steroid era, because you had guys like tetrahydrogestrinone using the stuff to extend their careers. And...guess what...since 2012...the average MLB age has gone back up, not down. It was 28.9 last year, matching what it was in 2010.

The GOP has really perfected propaganda techniques, and how to waste time discussing politics with them. They use ridiculous techniques, that are designed to trap people in a corner. There is no way to get a conservative to have any sort of rational thought process. I have come up with the thought that the only way to beat them is to beat them at their own game. They move the goalposts, create "scandals" out of non-issues, using strawman arguments, whataboutism, play the victim card, and other things that are logically downright ridiculous. They have created a circular rhetoric that is meant to frustrate the ever loving fuck out of the opposition. I agree with whoever said if they go low, kick them in the balls. The GOP never compromises on anything. The Dems cave every time. It is time for a game of chicken. The Dems have to go on offense and attack the ever loving fuck out of them. The Dems have been bringing an olive branch to a gunfight and getting murdered each and every time. Everyone looks like wimps. Stand up for your principles. Attack them. Call them racist assholes. Bring out the talking points. Try to beat them at their own game. The GOP has been whiny, petulant children when they don't get their way. Call them out on it. Point out the hypocrisy of the Garland/Kavanaugh bullshit. The biggest thing is to point out how basically everything the GOP claims to hate, they actually do. They are the kings of projection. I also don't know why the majority of the public thinks it is admirable to not pay your taxes and get away with it. The Dems need to go start investigating people left and right. If there is ANYTHING that might be illegal that a GOP national elected official has done, make damn sure they are cleared of any wrongdoing before being allowed to seek re-election. Corruption must be weeded out. Now is not the time for civility, because the GOP was never civil.

It’s pretty BS to “out” someone’s mental health issues without that person’s consent, especially when it’s just hearsay, and ESPECIALLY when it could potentially affect the person’s employment opportunities in the future. It probably isn’t, ultimately, a big deal. But it COULD be.
