  1. The only way to find out is to not respond, sadly, which takes away from the entertainment.
  2. Having put together focus groups in the past, they’re likely selecting a cross-section from various walks of life - longtime season ticket holders, casual fans, young people, old people, DINKs, people with kids, . . . . The goal is to get input from all potential sources of income and revenue, not just the loyal followers, so that you can understand how to maximize revenue and engagement in an informed way.
  3. Ishbias have already made the decisions and no one has the resources or ability to stop them...even the Reinsdorfs. Oh yea, brother Justin said the decision to move the White Sox is Jerry's and Jerry's alone. What a wizeass. The factr is that Ishbias decided (prior to any notifications or deliberations with the White Sox, the ISFA, neighbors and concerned Sox fans) to shitcan the area around Sox park with a multi-story 24/7 RR repair facility on 35th street and a railyard boneyard between Cermak and 39th street. The purpose for moving the railyard was initiated by Ishbia for private profit but can be defended very simply by claiming that it is also for a railroad purpose. All my life as a Sox fan I came to understand and appreciate the significance of the historic location and the traditions of a team team located there for generations. Then in comes a guy who just bucked out of a deal to acquire the Twins and unilaterally decides to erase the identify and traditions and create something for his own profit, a location bereft of neighborhood and tradition, things that the oldest franchises would never consider throwing away. (The New Yankee stadium is in the Bronx..across the street from the old Yankee stadium..)
  4. One factoid today: November 5, 1990 - It was presumed that after dismissing G.M. Larry Himes in September, owner Jerry Reinsdorf would want someone to replace him more familiar to the organization — if not an outright “yes man.” And indeed, named as senior V.P. of MLB operations was Ron Schueler, away from the team for a decade but a White Sox player in 1978-79 and pitching coach after retiring in 1979 for Tony LaRussa. Schueler inherited the powerful foundation left behind by Himes and rode that into quick success, with the 1993 A.L. West title and lead in the division in 1994 when labor pains stopped the season. The remainder of his tenure was mostly painful, with the hiring of Terry Bevington as manager and the infamous “White Flag Trade” in 1997. It ended on a high note though, with the 2000 A.L. Central title. After the season, Schueler moved upstairs as Executive Vice President of Baseball Operations in part because of a serious illness to his wife.
  5. Anyone who has been a season ticket holder since the current park opened will likely be at least pushing 70 by the time a new ballpark opens. I suspect that they're not handing out invites simply based on seniority, otherwise younger fans would be totally underrepresented. The fact that he's even seeking input from a select group of fans is a good sign. But they're not going to be inviting every season ticket holder or everyone who feels that they're the "biggest Sox fan ever". Whoever goes, I hope they provide some good feedback.
  6. One factoid today: November 4, 1965 – “The Senor,” manager Al Lopez, resigned his position with the White Sox for health reasons. Perhaps the greatest manager in franchise history, Lopez had nine winning seasons in his nine full-time years as field manager. He won the 1959 American League pennant and was coming off of back-to-back-to-back 90 or more-win seasons in 1963, 1964 and 1965. The Sox averaged 96 wins a season during that time span. His 840 wins are second most in team history. He returned to manage for parts of the 1968 and 1969 seasons.
  7. At first, I was sure he was just angry and bitter and perhaps scared because he really really really doesn't want the Sox to move to the South Loop and he's lashing out at Ishbia because, unlike Jerry, he actually has the wealth to make this happen. But, I'm coming around to the idea that he's indeed just trolling us. I mean, much of the stuff he's spouting is so comically over the top and detached from facts that I think @ron883 is right....he's just playing us. And to be clear, fans can legitimately have the opinion that the Sox should stay at Rate Field or at least at the current site permanently and there are pros and cons to each option. But that's not what's going on here. It's just one angry gaslighting post after another with nothing insightful being said whatsoever. So, I'm leaning toward the "he's a troll" camp now.

  9. If you can't see the fact that these two are 100% working together on a common goal, it's because you do not want to see it. Jerry Reinsdorf is the one baseball in Chicago owner that has come the closest to actually moving the Chicago White Sox, and no one else. He didn't give a s%*# about 35th and Shield when he looked to move to Addison, when he looked to move to Florida, and the same hold true today. It means nothing to him. Quit trying to blame it on the new guy, who is continuing Jerry's work of the last 4 decades.
  10. Forget a new stadium for like 10 years and sign a star or two like Skubal or Sato. Focus on the team rather than personal wealth. Put your money where your mouth is b1tch.
  11. I heard they went out to those who have had season tickets since 1990. Looks like you just missed the cut, sorry.
