It was really ripped. Someone posted the story from SoxNet. I don't what you mean "our rumor". The rumor didn't start here. It started at cbssportsline.com then traveled to ESPN and did a sweep of the Sox and Expos boards there, then was picked up by the official White Sox site boards and the official Expos site boards, then posted here, and then at WSI, all because some dumbass had nothing better to do than post a fake rumor. *shakes head*

OMFG! I hate idiots who start these things. Two rumors have been going around today that are obviously fake, and everyone eats it up! No that's not true! It was started by some idiot on the ESPN boards who had nothing better to do. I wish some actual trades would go down so people would stop believing these fake rumors.

I like speculating on rumors, but I seriously doubt that the Sox and Expos and "close" on a deal. This rumor has gotten out of hand to the point where it is on almost every White Sox and Expos message board. The Expos are likely not "close" to any deal right now.

Is there any other source other than some idiot on a cbssportsline.com message board who, judging by the reaction his post got, had been posting other bs trade rumors? I don't believe it for one second. Omar Minaya is being swamped with offers from different teams. He said that today he was still visiting with some teams for the first time, and that tommorrow he will probably start visiting teams for the second team. He says that he will have met with about 20 teams by the time he is done, and that he has already ruled out several teams who didn't have the resources to get a trade done. Does anyone believe for one second that he will would have actually decided on a trade that he feels is fair by now? He would have had to have received a trade offer that overwhelmed him if he was just going to ignore listening to offers from other teams and accept that one trade. I seriously doubt that the Expos will make any trades before Monday. They will probably field a bunch of offers, and narrow down the list of teams that could potentially pull off a trade. Then continue to talk to those teams, playing the teams offers off each other in order to increase what they can get in a trade, until they finally get final offers and decided on what trade they want. Sorry, but I don't believe this trade at all. As much as I would like to believe that we would get Colon, Vidro, and Barrett this soon, it just makes zero sense. I don't expect the Expos to make a trade for another few weeks, and Guerrero will not be traded and I think they will try to keep Colon as well.

I can just see the other GM's sitting around talking about trades they proposed to KW. Jim Bowden: So I said to him, hey I'll give you Griffey for Ordonez, straight up. And he actually thought about it for a while! Other GM's: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

I don't know if it's the same one your talking about but there was a rumor posted by someone on a message board at cbssportsline.com that was basically the same trade but with the Sox getting Barrett and trading 2 prospects. It wasn't a cbssportsline.com rumor but just some poster who said he heard it on a Montreal radio station, so it's not from a reliable source.

However, he says he did not think about it for a week but rather for about 5 seconds. Thats a relief. Link

I thought it sucked. I was disappointed. The entire 4th season was seemingly just a setup for the 5th season. And now they're talking about the 5th season possibly not coming on until 2005!!! f*** that.

I would like to see Carson Palmer, but I don't think that he will be there. I guess Letwich would be worth a shot, though I am not his biggest fan. If McGahee declares, I would like to see him, but Im sure the Bears will give Freight Train another shot, and chalk up his season to the OLine injuries. I would like to see a speed back here rather than a power back, even though it won't happen.

I like Howard for some reason. I wouldn't mind seeing a bit more of him. You forgot about this other linebacker we have...I wanna say his name is Urlacher. I don't think Colvin will be back.

I heard that a deal could happen between the Sox and Cubs for Damian Miller. Im assuming that it would be contingent on the Cubs getting Rodriguez first. Thanks for letting us know what you hear.

Well he isn't a FA and Dec 7th was the FA arbitration deadline. Dec. 20th is the non FA arbitration deadline. I don't see why they wouldn't bring him back. He showed some good stuff last year, and whether they agree to a contract with him or go to arbitration, he will be cheaper.

Kenny would probably give up too much, but they really need to take a look at Ortiz. He would fight in nicely with this rotation. KW would probably give up Rauch, Borchard, and Honel though.

Where is Adrian Peterson? Jauron is an idiot. Burris and Peterson should start next week. Leon Johnson...Pfft!

I don't know where that came from, but Todd Ritchie is not a FA so they didn't have to offer him arbitration by the 7th.

They have until the 20th. The 7th was the deadline for FA's. The 20th is the deadline for non FA's. They haven't done anything yet, but will probably avoid arbitration and sign him. Im sure he knows that he won't win in arbitration.

They might as well bring him back. He'll definately be cheaper. If they can't reach a contract by the 20th, and go to arbitration, the Sox will win.

Yeah CF is a problem, but I don't know if I would want to take a chance of Griffey at that price. That lineup would look nice though. Hopefully Thomas, Ordonez, Konerko, and Borchard (plus Crede) will make a great lineup soon.

Im a big Griffey fan, but no thanks. Too many questions, and our problem is not offense. Now if Griffey was #2 quality pitcher...
