Yeah, I don't think Bohm is an option as anything but a change of scenery candidate. -

As a rumor, I'm sure it's "real". You've already admitted that Hayes didn't have all the information, so his reporting you repeatedly beat everyone over the head with wasn't the whole story. You have no idea if they talked to the Twins for months, or the Twins' GM texted Getz an idea as he was faxing a finished Vargas deal into the league office. And the only reason you kept flogging half a rumor was in service of your full time job, s%*#-posting against Chris Getz. -
White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert

Why don't you like Arroyo? I have no opinion, just curious. Thanks. -

It's a partial rumor of talks. You've even admitted that Hayes didn't have all the information. You act like it was a done deal. I'm not sure what you're quoting. My f*cking with Caulfield? -

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert

Garfein seems to be of the opinion that if Robert looks healthy and rakes for a couple weeks in ST, Getz takes the best offer. -

But there's only pitchers ahead of him on Pipeline's 2024 list. Burns or Lowder seem to be out of Robert's league. -

It's a pretty interesting interview. Wittenmeyer's saying the Reds go back and forth on payroll. Francona and others want Robert. Wittenmeyer thinks it could happen in spring training. -

Garfein Podcast with Gordon Wittenmeyer (of the Cincinnati Enquirer) about Robert to the Reds trade talks. Basically saying the Sox would have to send money to get their two top prospects they're asking for. https://linktr.ee/CHSNPodcasts?lt_utm_source=lt_share_link#429033152 -
He's further along than Fajardo, which probably also has value to the Sox. I'd think an A+-ball SS helps more than low rookie pitcher.

Liking Sean Burke.

So there. Dominic Fletcher is #7. We couldn't sign Kim if we wanted to.

Yeah, but WAR is just one tool. Like with baseball cards, you don't get to walk into a card shop, slap down the Nolan Ryan rookie card, and yell, "ha! read it and weep!! I'll take it in 100's!!" You're dealing with FO's who want to talk about bWAR, ERA, velocity, walks, etc. Cease had a down 2023. And the market collapsed.

Prelander Berroa could possibly be in the Sox' bullpen, and Blake Larson was the pitcher they took with the Mariners' Comp. Balance pick. I really don't know where you come up with this stuff.

COUNTERPOINT: If a left-handed hitting outfielder couldn't distinguish himself in 2024 to make Tauchman superfluous, they've burned their chances. Cam Booser can actually be valuable at next year's TDL. He pitches well, makes the minimum, has 3 options, and 6 full years of control. The FutureSox guys have surmised that Booser can certainly bring back better than Fajardo at the deadline.

A shortstop they expected didn't materialize on the waiver wire?

The Sox were so mediocre the last few decades, I went any weeknight I wanted on the free company tickets. Hit the Billy Goat downtown for a few before getting on the train. Catch a brat at the park. Train home. The three or four Sox hats and WS Champs t-shirts are probably the most money that Reinsdorf has gotten from me in the last 40 years.

I hate Reinsdorf. I hate his politics. I believe he's as bad as the Koch brothers, for what he supports. He's getting our money whether we like it or not. I don't think being angry about the state of sports in Chicago makes one "not a fan". I let go of the Bears long ago, and I'm happy to not be referred to as a Bears' fan. I'll pay attention if they make the playoffs. Short of that, I might check the score Sunday evening, and that's pretty much it. Watch a highlight or two. I don't patrol any BearsTalk boards, or whatnot, to let anybody who speaks well of the team know they're saps for giving the Halas family their money. This doesn't make me smarter or better than anyone else. Just illustrating how I really can't grasp the anger. Direct it towards your HOA. Or Nazis.

Ok, I'll back up to this one. The whole context was And you walked into a single sentence of me responding to Caulfield's new pet troll, touting Oakland's spending. I agree with you. The Sox and Bulls have sucked for the past decade, 15 years for the Sox. I also agree that Reinsdorf is the problem. Machado is a perfect microcosm. "Let's be cute, hear him ask for $300M, and we'll creep up to $290 in incentives, etc." I don't agree with Tray's take that if you don't go to games and buy hats, you're not a fan.

I think they're still in on Bregman.
