  1. B. Smith only concentrated on catching in his last year of college, where he caught 44 games (if memory serves). I think he's got a couple years of starting in the minors before he's regarded as an accomplished catcher.
  2. I'm sure Getz is ready to accept that nice prospect for Jon Cannon. He's practicing saying yes in front of a mirror.
  3. He's pissed at being passed over in the Adam Eaton trade.
  4. That sounds like an 8-0 White Sox victory. Schultz goes 5.
  5. Well, if you're eating beaver, I'd stick to a fine Shiraz to cut the gamey taste. Don't mix wine and beer.
  6. Peters has hit the ball well a couple of times.
  7. Hey @grok, did the White Sox develop Tyler Schweitzer? I'm trying to check something.
  8. I think the White Sox dodged a stupid bullet in Harrison Bader. Drunk on a scooter at 2:00 am while on the IL, hits a fire truck, it rolls over his foot. Idiot.
  9. Looks like the Sox are trying to skip extras tonight to get a jump on those booty calls in The Villages.
  10. Maybe he means to lighten up over lightening up, like quit restraining one's self from total meltdowns.
  11. That's my thing. He's been a pro catcher for all of about 4 months. He's caught about 82 college games, and 4 summer league games. I'm loathe to trade him, also. But he's just barely a catcher. LF/DH? Sure.
  12. I mean, if you're just going to cut, paste and retweet, be a little more accurate
  13. Tony Joe White's entire oeuvre is awesome. And yes, the better version. But c'mon, prime late Elvis.
  14. I think the foodie accounts are running with their own embellishments, at this point...
  15. I drive to SC once or twice a year. Hurricane Florence wiped out I-40 in NC. They're building it back, but it's awesome (in a scary way) to see how nature just scours civilization off the map. Driving through KY last year, forest every where, then broken tree stumps for a mile after a huge tornado passed through. We're just ants on a log, floating in the middle of a lake.
  16. I've got a bunch of this (Pokeweed) in the front yard. Looking it up, it's very toxic. I never realized people eat this. You have to boil it many times over to get the toxins out.
  17. Yeah, not that you're seeing things, just that Francys Romero just reported the Yanks and Angels are hot and heavy over those two players.
  18. When he couldn't throw a strike, I think you take two. They got to 3-0, and Stone just blurted out, "NO! I know you were going to ask, and no, you don't swing on 3-0, and maybe not even 3-1." However, I think Colson has to offer at 3-1. That seemed inevitable he would throw it in the dirt, and Colson would bite.
  19. "The media" doesn't exist like it used to. James Fox might drop a knowing nugget about what he thinks the team will do, but the Athletic, ESPN and MLB guys are just spewing out targeted leaks. And the leaks are old and dead. Under the previous regime, guys like Shields would be floated for weeks until the trade happened, or in the case of Adam Dunn, from the TDL to the winter meetings. Has Getz even had name being floated that became inevitable? He may be trading for established major leaguers, but I get the feeling it's all going to be "WTF" guys who they think they can fix or upgrade. Sure, maybe they break the bank for an Emerson Hancock, but that would surprise me.
