  1. Looks like the Mariners just hurt Kay's feelings, today.
  2. I've been using my Norton VPN. Frustrating if I'm working on a Jewel order online, because they think I live in Ohio. But yeah, VPN is the only thing that works for me.
  3. Looking to see what the league was offering for Erick Fedde at the 2024 TDL, and Adrian Houser last year, I don't see why Gonzo wouldn't bring back 2 months or a year and 2 months of somebody's low-strikeout, grounder, junk-baller who's currently throwing a 2.00 ERA, but they don't dominate the way a strikeout monster would.
  4. I hope somebody tells Bido that they have strike zones in Japan, too.
  5. This all makes sense. I'd imagine there will be a small bunch of minor league free agents over the next ten days to pick through, also.
  6. Ed Walsh born on this date in 1881. Catcher Ray Schalk died on this date in 1970.
  7. It could be seen as Bummer for Soroka (a fair gamble) and Gowens. They also got a AAA glove in Shewmake and bullpen depth with Shuster. Lopez should have been a utility guy, but they had no starter, and nobody pushed him off of 2nd. Ramos, Sosa, Mendick, Remillard, Baldwin - none of these guys could muster anything better than replacement level production. Amazingly, Soroka and Bummer were each worth 0.6 bWAR. Bummer over 55.1 IP, and Soroka over 79.2

  9. Okay, that's it. I'm going to Rate Field tomorrow to try out as catcher. Wish me luck.
  10. I believe a bobble is allowed, just as long as the ball doesn't touch the ground, or anything, really except the catcher's mitt.
  11. Acuña is the only backup IF on the bench, and he's a righty bat. I know, he doesn't hit anybody, but platoon splits work both ways. Some LHPs are pretty obvious to RHHs.
  12. Teel is joining the team in Seattle tomorrow.
  13. Where's Vasil's wand, now?
  14. Dude's pretty much out until 3rd week of June.
  15. I'm not even sure what set me off on that one. Romo and Quero are mediocre.
  16. He didn't. I was out of line.
  17. Murakami also laid down on the ground in grief instead of popping up and running after the ball.
  18. Sucking a 15" drain pipe.
  19. All catcher defense is "mediocre". Can we stop pretending that there's some tier of catching defense that 29 other teams have solved? Like, seriously, if you're watching a major league catcher, and thinking, "this fucker's got nothing on me", go to Sox Park, and audition. Okay. A bit overserved.
  20. The guy also had to field a team in '24. With pallid interest in Eloy and Yoan, maybe lowballs on Robert and Cease, he moved forward with what he had. I don't think we're talking to too many crypto billionaires here who gambled their house on catching an inside straight. That said, I'm guessing the rest of the industry "knew" what the posters here already proclaimed to "know", and that's that Robert would be injured 9 games into the next season, (or whatever he was).
  21. Blind squirrels don't make major league baseball teams, so no, they don't.
