  1. In this instance, it's the guy's own kid, so it would be really weird if he didn't give his kid the ball. But if somebody catches a foul ball at a game, why are they obligated to give it to a kid? Are we supposed to stop at the ATM and get a wad of twenties to start handing out to other people's kids at a game?
  2. Braden Montgomery was hit by a pitch in the top of the 2nd inning, ran for himself, then pinch-hit for in the 3rd inning. I hope he's okay.
  3. Multiple sports-bro accounts are encouraging people to dox her and reveling in how her life's gonna be hell on Monday. I wonder if any of these sports bros, when they win some big parlay, if they give that money to a child in the neighborhood. Or when they win some online sports bet with another sports bro for a steak dinner, let a child they don't know have that steak dinner.
  4. I can't even really get mad about this one. Skubal is probably winning the Cy Young because he does this every time out against much better teams. Win tomorrow and stun these guys.
  5. The longest winning streaks in White Sox history. The Sox can't break their own record until the Sunday game against the Padres, September 21, assuming there's no rain-outs. Longest Winning Streaks In White Sox History
  6. He did look genuinely startled when he realized she was right there.
  7. I don't think people ought to go running 15 seats over to take a ball that's right in front of somebody else. Maybe the lady was going to look for a homeless child in a wheelchair to give it to.
  8. I'm on this lady's side. Don't run 15 seats over to grab a baseball that's right in front of someone else. And who's to say she wasn't going to a Children's Hospital after the game to give that ball to a dying child?
  9. I'm one away on the Sosa HRs. None of those guys were traded. 6 more wins in eminently doable. Colson has his 2 bWAR and then some.
  10. The Tigers had 7 losing seasons from 2017-2023, bottoming out at 114 losses in 2019. Their low finishes allowed them to draft Casey Mise (1;1) in 2018, Riley Green (1;5) in 2019, Spencer Torkelson (1;1) in 2020, Jackson Jobe (1;3) in 2021, Jace Jung (1;12) in 2022, OF Max Clark (1;3) in 2023, and Bryce Ranier (1;11) in 2024. I'm not going to do all 4, but the Tigers and Royals have bottomed out, lost a lot, and built from within. The Twins and Indians have also built through the draft, while taking advantage of having 3 doormat teams in the division.
  11. The Twins are still a nice offensive team, and we outhit them. I called them a AAA team and was roundly mocked for it, but those guys can hit. If they had a bullpen, they'd be a 79-83 team.
  12. Venable's got these guys wanting to run through walls. And he ain't no Ditka, berating them all day. I'm excited.
  13. I think we are. We're spotting the other team runs every game, and we're still pounding them. Next year, they get serious.
