2024 was the Orioles 101-win, divisional champion season. They were already at the top of the win curve. They needed dominant starting pitching to get further in the playoffs. Over two post-seasons, they went 0-5. They were arguably in their window. 2024 was the year for the Orioles to pull the trigger. I think that year is next year for the White Sox.

Every time you post this, I'm going to point out that Reinhold wasn't injecting players with a "controversial" substance. He was fired for administering shots when he wasn't authorized to. This was a common practice among trainers in the game, it seems. Then, you're citing almost 20-year-old anecdotes about people who are no longer with the organization. It's silly to talk about the White Sox "historically" in this way. You see, historically, cars didn't exist. It would be ridiculous to then state that cars still don't exist because historically, they didn't. You can "wait and see" all you want. I'd be more interested in hearing about changes in conditioning and medical that have happened in Getz's tenure than tired, 20-year-old grousing from a fired ex-employee. I agree that it seems the White Sox were way behind other teams in these areas. I doubt they're still doing the same things they did 20 years ago because history.

Considering that the full thought was that even if the Sox went to the playoffs multiple years in a row, if they didn't win it all, Liptak would still consider it all a failure, it's a highly appropriate hypothetical. I always find it weird that we can't hypothesize about wild positive things, but it's perfectly fine to hypothesize about catastrophes there is no evidence they can happen.

This was a great fucking road trip. Toronto and Texas. 4-2. There's better Sox teams in the last 15 years that would have gone 1-5 coming out of the break. These guys are laser focused.
