  1. As we know, the Mets are looking for starting pitching and maybe an outfielder. Mets have work to do: Here’s how they’ll approach the rest of the offseason - The Athletic
  2. Maybe. And maybe the tier that Getz is targeting is waiting for more valuable players to be taken off the board first, or for the teams closer to competing to decline them.
  3. What, does this mean that the league now has its hand out for vendors to get approval?
  4. No s%*#. At the time. my thought was that the dude was hitting a ton, every influencer was screaming for him to be called up, I believe that blogs and sports radio even talked about him. I thought the Sox, if they were going to bring him up, do it on the next homestand, maybe sell some tickets. I really didn't believe they'd run out of SRO tix, too. Yeah, maybe if the Sox challenge .500 in 2026, and 2027 comes off without a hitch, Hagen Smith, or Roch draws interest when they're called up.
  5. This makes no sense. The joke is that I thought announcing the promotion of Elko would cause excitement for people to take in a game because he was the flavor of the week for every Twitter account and podcaster (which he was).
  6. Many of us here would love for you to lead by example.
  7. Careful. There's thought police here who don't like people hypothesizing situations for players already in the system.
  8. That's one way to misrepresent it. Nobody needs to shut up. It's passive aggressive to pretend to not understand a situation so somebody answers, then they can be shitty.
  9. I only worship the part of Chris Getz that will smite down my enemies. Seriously, this is boring. Every single exchange doesn't have to be s%*#-posting.
  10. I think it's been thoroughly discussed here that JR probably wouldn't approve until his contract ran out. Weird that it's taken you this long to understand that. Another Dick Allen blunder.
  11. I would think he would know what? Have the Sox traded international money space since Getz has been GM? Sounds like whatever you think he should have figured out, he did right away.
  12. Once Reinsdorf got the system in place he wanted, the Sox became draft pool monsters. Before that, there was a short period they had real trouble coming to terms with high draft picks.
  13. Why do teams need more money if it's already decided years before? If a 12 year old kid develops way beyond where everyone thought he'd be at 16, he might just decide he wants more money.
  14. The stuff I've read is that the system isn't going to be overused lest a team run themselves out of appeals early in the game. If a catcher could keep the calls that are too near the zone to safely dispute, that still has value.
  15. There's still a chance of Elko wearing a Sox hat on his HOF plaque.
  16. The problem with bad framing is that it leads to unfavorable counts, and higher pitch counts. Quero cost his team about 13 runs over the season. I believe that Baseball Prospectus has one of the more comprehensive catcher rating systems, although I'm sure someone else could be better.
  17. It's 9 weeks until voluntary reporting to spring training starts (2/15/26). In that time, I'd say the Sox are still pursuing a SP, "closer", 1B LHH, veteran OF/CF, and there's got to be a good half dozen bullpen arms and utility/3rd-4th chance guys, right? So that's 1-2 signings a week. We've just had Kay, Rolison, Oliver Done, the 3 Rule 5 picks, Pallette getting picked in the last week. I'd think there'd be any movement before the 2 weeks of holidays. January 15 is the opening of the 2026 International Signing period.
