2024 and 2025 was the same thing. .474-.497 OPS in April, and .665-.618 OPS in May.
That was a contributing factor to two terrible starts for the entire team.
Your list shows them at 18, and B-R.com at 19, just behind the Dodgers. For all the whining about their "dumpster dive" bullpen, weird how the Dodgers seem to be just about as good while spending tons of money on their pitching staff.
There could be a parallel universe where the White Sox pummeled the Mariners, sweeping them, and securing home field advantage throughout the playoffs by the end of the first week of August.
Correct. But there is a limit to how many times a player can be sent down in a single season. I believe it's 5, then the player gets to become a free agent if they choose.
Correct. This is his last option year. He can be sent down something like up to 5 times per option year. Next season, he is out of options and has to be rostered on the 26-man all season, or DFAed. Bryan Ramos is in the same position, so I'd think they would have called him up instead of Amaya.
I think some people envision me having a notebook filled with me practicing signing "Eddy Vargas" in it, and I think besides saying he could be a 3 WAR 3B (not crazy given the pace he was on for 2 months), I've also said he may not be on the next competitive team. He's a place holder until he taps into that top 40 potential with the bat.
I thought he could be Joe Crede-like. If he put up 15-20 bWAR at 3B, or LF, that would have been phenomenal for the #22 pick. It's just his rookie season, and the league doesn't seem to have adjusted to him, much, yet.
It was a podcast. Him and Jon Daniels talking about the GM job, how they got theirs, and the duties involved, how the position has morphed just over their time in the game. I found it interesting. Hahn was in baseball about 23 years and has a ton of knowledge.
You mean.... Fred?
Yeah, Rick telling JR to fire him was probably the biggest takeaway.
Interesting insight on how Cashman and Dombrowski are just straightforward dudes, instead of wasting his time just info-gathering.
