  1. Why in the f*** would they trade for a guy they thought they could work with, take on his salary, then dump him after 5 starts? Any owner would be colossally stupid to do that. People whose career in baseball consists of more than watching the TeeVee saw something in him. They're going to give him some ride to see what works and what doesn't. It's not because Reinsdorf's cheap.
  2. Weird that Luke Keaschall is such a great, rising talent that Getz should have done anything to acquire him, but he's easily moved off 2B to the OF for a nepo lifer in Kody Clemens.
  3. Such an opportunity to beat on JR for saving a day's MLB active roster money by dropping Nishida today and not tomorrow. People here are slipping, I tell ya.
  4. Charlie Tilson.
  5. Maybe he's referring to the concave bottom of a wine bottle. Or the Irish pound.
  6. Baltimore Kremer wasn't quite the cakewalk, either. Chicago White Sox vs Baltimore Orioles Box Score: July 1, 2026 | Baseball-Reference.com
  7. "Believing" in a player doesn't mean not planning for injury or fall-off.
  8. That's why they're doing it in the minor leagues.
  9. I really don't like when they play the interviews on the jumbotron. Most of the time, you can't understand, and you feel like a jerk talking over it, when, ...you paid s%*# tons of money to be there, and nobody expected a speech.
  10. And they took on money. They weren't spending prospects. Different thing.
  11. The team's in first place. Let me know how you would do better.
  12. I have faith in my GM not acquiring players he doesn't need.
  13. I've been assured that Brenton Doyle sucks. I can see why. I hate 3-run home runs!!
  14. Boy, you sure love your teeny tiny sample sizes. Weird how 4.0 IP makes Mason Adams a viable playoff starter, but nobody gets to reference an entire season of stats from 2 years ago to argue that a pitcher has had major league success. Castillo and Urquidy also did well in one of their White Sox starts. A move works out or not over the long haul, not in one game.
  15. Doyle is probably the best defensive CF on the team right now. It doesn't matter if they had someone who could stand out in CF for a game. It looks like they wanted to get an elite defensive backup. They didn't have that. Pereira nor Hays were that. And if you're referring to Pereira, he's played 37 of about 120 games. He wasn't an option.
  16. I didn't notice a lot of waiver activity this year where it comes to guaranteed contracts. Maybe teams have prepared themselves, accordingly, where they're not wishing and hoping somebody claims a player to relieve them of a little payroll.
  17. None of the stuff you complain about would have happened. Hays has nothing to do with Doyle, in that Hays is not an elite defensive CF. Doyle is. Hays is also regularly injured. I hope Mason Adams pitches his way into the HOF. The Rockies gave away Doyle for nothing.
  18. Jo Adell's on a hot streak since getting to Cleveland. He put up a 93 OPS+ in Anaheim, which is below average. He's not a CF. The team wanted to replace Pereira, who was always injured, and is not a CF. There would have been no point in acquiring Jo Adell.
  19. Then pick up the last option year and trade him next spring training.
  20. They should have never traded for Brenton Doyle, because I hate two-run singles.
